Please check out my new track 'View From A Stationary Train' and post your comments here!

Ez

So me and Ethan (MinasTirithGuard) were swapping production hints and tips about bass processing and the result of my attempts to create a twisty neuro bassline were the basis to this tune.

Unfortunately, as is my norm, I didn't manage to make what I set out to and ended up with something a lot more chilled and melodic. Whatever, I'm pretty happy with the results.

As ever, all comments appreciated.

Made with Reason 4, Nuendo 3, Waves plugins, z3ta, predator

Yo BH,

The title sounds like a softcore emo band name Tongue

I really like the bass vibes in the beginning, the track's a little more chilled but definitely has an edge to it.

The bass at 1:30 is the shit! Very twisty and very wicked Smile

I wasn't too sure about the breakdown at 2:10 but it ends up being quite nice. Love the little rhodes style keyboard cues.

I like how the ending keeps building and gets progressively more epic. It's like the DnB version of post-rock.

Overall the track has a lot of nice elements to it and everything sounds fantastic, I just think you need to bring back a wicked bassline after the breakdown. The melodic second half is asking for a bit more bite. I don't think it has to be anything to crazy, just something to tie it back to the beginning.

Very nice direction you're going in these days Big Grin

I'd say that making exactly what you intended is the hardest part! Very melodic and chill. I'd like to hear a bit of that bass at the end in the melodic part. I don't have anything negative to say - I really liked the build-up around 3:00. I can tell you put alot of thought into it, but its not over the top. A lot of the dnb tunes I've just downloaded from drum n bass arena have these buildups that are way over the top - they sound like cheesey trance anthems - and then the drop is like whatever. Very nice man you got some talent.

P.S. why don't you give me some tips on bass processing - I'm assuming that nasty bass (the first one) in the beginning is filtered but I'd like to know how you made it GROWL like that.

I always have a weak spot for tracks that sound like organic chaos at first and then when the beat kicks in everything suddenly makes sense. This is a perfect example of such a track.
The neuro bassline is sick shit (tutorial?)
I notice your producing skills are going through the roof lately Bigup
The second drop gives me goosebumps all over the fucking place. That organ is so... organic :-) and gives a lovely feel to it all. Wow man, big phat roller you got here.

hi mate , yeah nice tune , but i think the track lacks a bit of power , at the start maybe its the kik , a bit to hi pitched , could do with some more fx`s , theres a lot more going in the next breakdown thou , which has more presence , so thats great !!!!!!

nice thou !!!!!!

Like Battle said to me a few days ago, you are the "new god on .be". I've gotta agree with him. Big Grin Every tune of yours gets better and better.

What I personally love about this tune - and your tunes in general - is how much melody there is. It is very well structured and organised, each section gels into the next. Smooth transitions. This one had me hooked from the start, especially once the beat kicked in.

The EQing seems pretty much spot-on to me as well. Not complaints there at all.

Not much else to say really. Just keep doing what you're doing mate, this is fucking sweet. Big Grin Bigup

EZ, Very good structure to this track, I only have 1 slight downfall and thats the intro, may bit too long?

Also isnt DnB starting to sound more like Trance more and more?

besides that everythings crisp and where it should be structure and level wise Devil

lol i get the same when i produce, i set out to make something an it turns out totally different. thats a gud thing tho i think. i think u still did a good job of makin a twisty neuro bassline. Wikid track even if it is a bit more melodic.

Nice trackBigup i like it a lot. Its very interesting from the start to the end. I love the beats. Its well programmed and sounds as i likeSmile . Bassline is wicked. The melodies in this one are amazing. I like the buildup too.
The only thing i dont like thats the end of this. It would better witha longer reverb tail imo.
Anyway its very good work, respect!

The way you combine interesting sounds is simply amazing! If this song was a person I’d say that dude got charisma^^! Really good job, enjoyed listening, especially digged the intro.

Just your snare seems to be a tad too high-endy but well.
