HaHa !

Not to sound clever mate but dnb tempo is more around 170 mark.
160 could be a tad bit slow depending on the breaks you use mind.

Right I'll take a wee gander at your tune when it's done downloading and I've finished watching the last bit of this movie.

Take it eZ Fella And welcome to dotbe !

Fuck man ...

You got some serious clipping issues.
Need to work on your eQ a bit.
That bass in the intro nearly jacked my cans up.

Right I'll give you a quick review.

It's a tad bit slow like I said.
right main problem is you've got many elements at different levels.
The drums need layering and some variation imo.
Need bringing out more and the leads and bass need dropping a tad bit.
Also some overall variation would help as the bassline get's monotone after a wee while.

Not sure what that was in the 4:30 mark.
I'd remove that and the clap noises too.
Maybe find some vocal samples or record your own !?

Right you can apply for producers rights which you should get automatically if you do about 5 reviews i think it was.
Then you can upload direct to the site player and review rating system without any of those shitty mediafire, fileshare sites.

I'll leave the proper reviewing to the guys on here that are top dog at it !

Right I'm off to finish me movie !

eZ 0ot !

What is ment by layering the drums, are you talking about re-trigger and delay effects?

Hmmm ...

What DAW you using esé !?

I use Reason myself.

Ok whatever.

Layering is basically adding layers of the same sound on top.
Hence the reason we call it layering.
You can use the same sounds or slighty modified sounds and basically you add them to a new midi/audio channel to beefen up your sounds a bit.
Give it more presence persay.

I think the most important thing about producing is the mixdown and the audio quality you put out at the end of the finished tune.
Nice'n'Crisp without any elements of the tune clashing and/or sounding distorted or muddy.

I use a laptop soundcard also. Huh
Haven't got enough pennies in the bank to splash out on monitor speakers or external soundcards atm.
Well I do but I'm saving up to pass me car test and buy a car.

I use my laptop, analogue mixer, 2.1 speaker system and my philips headphones.Huh Big Grin

Right eZ 0ot I've gotta crack on with the cover art for the next SLR release.

Lmao !

Gone.

*I forgot man.

Click me banner por favor !

Cheers for the pointers, I'll have a fiddle with it tonight.

Using Nuedo with Monolith and a few 303 and 808 VSTi's.

T7400 based laptop, Vista Biz, and an external Presonus Firebox

I did use reason for years, but find it's interface a bit clunky now!

What do you mean compressing !?

You mean using a compressor on individual track channels !?
Not all sounds need compression imo.
Depends on what it is.
Bass, Kick drum, snare - maybe.
Side Chain is useful sometimes to give the bass and kick a bit more breathing space in the overall mix if it needs it mind.

But eQ'n seperate channels is a plus. - More control over the mix than trying to eQ the whole track in one.

Aye thanx !

eZ.
