Please check out my new track 'Cluster Fuck' and post your comments here!
Haven't made a track in a while. This is only a small preview, I'd love some tips on the bass and stark intro. Maybe too stark... I have a feeeling the beats don't change enough. Please point out the good points too, it keeps me going =P

Hey,
I think the intro might be too stark as you said, there's tension built but it doesn't flow into the drop. I really like the collection of sounds you used however. I think after the little siren thing goes up before the drop, you might be able to delay the drop two bars and stick in that owl-call like effect. That might add a bit more oomph when the drop kicks in.
Beats are rather thin and weak sounding at the moment. I think you could use a few chopped breaks under the beat to fill it out. Also more cymbal presence would power them up more.
I like the bass a lot, but I think it may be a tad muddied down in the low frequencies. For me, good dirty bass always has a "sizzle" of high end; give it a high-passed second layer to make it pop out. The filtering on the bass is very good though, and it has that nice growl to it.
Overall I think you need a little bit more context for the piece, maybe some atmospheric pads, or some more effects. The bass is very promising though!

The drums need some more roll and sparkle in there cos they sound a little bit flat at the moment, and a bigger build up to the drop would be great. Maybe even mix the snare and kick louder to get some power across. The bass is really farty at the moment, it could do with filtering and splitting off to different layers for processing.. I completely agree with hearing some bass sizzle! I like the intro, it has a good atmosphere, I don't think it's too stark (maybe it could do with a little percussion here and there) if what comes after it when it drops is bigger at the moment it's not but it could be, if you know what i mean lol. I agree with the others that the beat need more layers. I like the bass a lot but it needs variations and more high end maybe by another layer. I like the intro too but dont like the drop. Its too "sudden" for my mind.

Good start, lots of evil vibes in this. The beats and bass are very punchy. Sounds like you're using quite a bit of compression? Sounds cool. It's not long enough to make a good assessment tho. So far so good.
