Please check out my new track 'New Tune!!' and post your comments here!
Hi .be!!!
This is my first tune i'm posting up on here so i hope you all enjoy!
I've been working on this for the past week and is by no means complete by is just a little snippet of hopefully a semi-decent tune. i've only been able to roughly mix and EQ it though some crappy headphones, so it may sound a little whack!
Anyway any comments and ideas would be most welcome!
SICK tune man. The drop is great. Nice drum variation... sick sub bass... and awesome melody. Only thing I can think of is maybe adding some higher frequencies to the melody. Also you might want to add even more drum variation to shuffle it up more. I really like it overall, good job.
Very nice! The lead line is sweet as hell, reminds me of old Prodigy, so definitely good lol. The drums are nicely worked, maybe layer a few more one shots over the break cos at the moment it sounds too blatently like an amen and that really bugs me.. maybe its what you were going for, either way it's up to you! The Sub was heavy, very heavy but it could do with a few more change ups, simply because it seemed like one note the whole way through and in a club thats gonna tire people out very quickly. The drop drops nicely, and rolls along in a very satisfying way. One other thing that I might be tempted to do would be turn the hi hats down over the intro, i know the whole dj friendly thing but a tune is a tune and they take away from the atmospheric intro and cover it in hats. On the whole its a good sounding piece of work
Intro sounding very good. Maybe the hihat sounds too synthetic. Add some swing (adjust the volume of each hihat hit randomly) into it. The sub seems to be too loud. Its overpowering the amen break. Those FX shots are also too loud imo. Turn the break up a bit and try to layer it some more cos its very weak at the moment. I like the bass sounds cos it has a very nice groove and its rolling nicely. I would advice to work on the EQ and the break. Cheers, not bat at all man!
mix needs some work. u got some good sounds in the tune. want to hear something more than the same pad repeating. and ur bass needs to stand out more. like the drum fill at around 2mins. but the drum loop is quiet and distant. look forward to hearing more stuff from u.
ok intro, likin those sounds, wicked man love the synths
yes lovin when the bass comes in with the amen! boh! the arrangement and all the musical stuff i think are really well done
the main problem i reckon is the voerall sound, its coming out a bit muffled, really need to get all those sounds comin out crisp, boost ur beats a bit more and get everythin eq'd correctly would definately be a massive help
still overall nice ideas, lookin forward to more man!
I enjoyed this one a lot actually, reminds me of the older MetalHeadz stuff.
Yeah, like Ketz mentioned, the overall sound is a bit muffled and unclear. You need to think about seperating some of the sounds in the low-mid range, because there's too many competing sounds in there. The bass is the biggest problem I reckon. It's hums too much and is too dominant. Tone down some of the low frequencies on the bass and turn it down just a notch. I know that sounds like sacrilege
but sometimes it's necessary. I would then turn up all the elements in the mid range such as the main raspy synth. Great beats throughout.

I like the intro in this track,is a bit diferent than the other track i've heard in this site.
I think you should do some more changes in the bass line.
sounds a bit too looped.
I'm not very keen in the sounds(elements)you chose for the track.
But i think i see what you're tryng to achieve.
I like the style, but not the noises you put in.
I've always liked this kind of drum n bass more dark.
Here in Sao paulo we really appreciate this style of drum n bass.
I think this is a nice work, but i would like to see a bit more work to it.
Cheers
Nice to hear the amen break rinse through the tune. Something the scene needs a bit more of. I like the way it drops in and keep you hooked. The effects are dark, so the break works neatly with it. If thats your first tune then i look forward to your next couple....peace..... jah
