okay ...
basically i'm writing a track for St Valentine ... for my future girlfriend
and well, as usual ... whilst writing something soft and mellow and all, i stumble upon some other ideas ... so i quickly create a new file, and input that in it ...
this is what came up

Yeah it's a bit rough and empty now, but that will change when you work on it some more
You definitely start to get the hang of drum programming, got a nice swing going on the hihats again
The snare sounds a bit strange in combination with the kick maybe, and the bass melody (paw paw paw pow) is not very good IMO, gets boring even though you put a lot of variation in it... don't know, maybe just try a completely different idea for the bassline??
When it is in a more finished state I'll have a listen again

basically i didn't know how to continue it in a 'chilled' zone. .. so i quickly made a bassline
if i wanted to continue "chilling" it ... how would i do it ?

Try a more jazzy bassline that plays around the melody. I would also go for a more acoustic bass sound instead of a heavy synth bass.
