Please check out my new track 'Skydiver' and post your comments here!
Our (yes, Allotropy is a two-man-group) 2nd dnb piece on FL.
The mixing isn't anywhere near good and theres some nasty peaks hearable, but well... Try to enjoy.

Get rid of that crash at the begining of the phrases! I've got a thing about crashes. They either help the tune build or make it sound like a cheesey 90's euro trance tune. I find that they sound better on a real drum kit than a synthesized one.
This kina reminds me of something Alex Reese (sp?) would have done.

We also have a thing about crashes; they have to be there.
Now when we have listened the song quite a few times, the crash started annoying, we wanted to change it but we lost the .flp, so we couldn't. =(

Oh man! You know how many times that's happened to me? I never finished like half of my FL songs cuz I'd lose the files in a crash or something. Bummer. At least you learned a lesson that took me years to figure out: Be wary of cymbals!

drums sound a little bit weak, the lack of power makes the tune sort of sag around the drums.
Yes the crash is annoying. again because it seems fake but also lacks power.
the bass sounds like its done on a bass guitar? this is unusual in drum and bass.
good ideas tho and the general atmosphere of the track is good. good variation on the drums.
the structure needs work cos it feels like it goes on forever atm.

Its a shame you lost the .flp this tune has some potential. A lot of work is needed but there are elements i like. The stabs are one part I like. with some tweaking of the sound and maybe a few more interesting variations it could bring a whole new dimension to the sound. The major let down in this tune is the drums. They don't flow at all. They need to be more rolly, add some ghosts and get some groove on, layer a stronger break underneath it to begin with and that should give it omph, at the moment they seem quite steppy without meaning to to be and that IMO doesn't suit the track. The initial bass sound i'm thinking might be a fruity bass guitar preset. Tweak it up a bit and low cut it, it drowns the kick. The wobbles are great, but need some phattening up, maybe give it some sub behind it. The half time bit works but i'd lose the reverse snare and make that part more integral in the structure of the song, it kinda comes and goes as it pleases.. The last thing that needs working on is the structure, there are no discernable drops, the drums just cut out... work on building up the tension and really getting the suspense needed before rolling out the beats.
Wow that was a lot of writing.. shit sorry dude. Hope this helps and you don't just feel it was a whole load of meanness! ez
