hey m8
thanks for the review on my track! nows my turn eh? lol
k so
In the intro/beginning, one of the hats is a bit offbeat. it still is throughout the whole song, but is really unnoticable except for in the intro.
im TOTALLY diggin the main melody on that short synth, really gives a bundle of flavor and warmth to the mix, and flute and strings fill it up man. great work in that aspect!
the reece is good, but needs more low end. kick needs to be more full and bassy, and the snare need a few more layers and some beefing up. [/opinion]
other than that, great job man! lookin forward to more tunes, and ill keep my eyes peeled for the final mix of this track!
im gunna request you on myspace, good job again.
ZK (nosebleed)

Hey Bruv
Cheers for the review, since posting that track i have layered the kiks snrs and added a new break to fill the whole lot out it sounds real fat now......

As far as making your tune better or worse..

i reckon when making tunes with only vsts it is real hard to not sound totally synthetic.

What i reckon you do is replace some of the synths with real samples,
find some crazy samples from anywhere that sound similar to the vst you want to replace, then put them into a sampler and make the midi sequence the same as the vst pattern you are replacing. Play the vst and the sampler over the top of one another (you will find that the pitch is different for the sample u just added) transpose the samplers midi pattern up or down till it is in key with the vst, then turn the vol right down on your vst track, get your new sample sounding tight with the tune till your happy with it now slowly turn the vol on your vst back up a little at a time till you get the two sounds blending nicely(filters can help here).

That should give your tune a realer feel.

Same sort of thing with the drums.
There is nothing i cant stand more than a dnb tune with no breaks in it get a couple of breaks and high pass them at around 150-250hz then sequence the breaks using the splice tool and copy and paste till you get a pattern you like.
this should add the nice splashy sound that is common in tunes of this style.

Check this tutorial for a more detailed description of the breaks.

hope this helps

sounds good off the start.

drums are nice and fat.

good atmo's. really love the intro.

think you could boost the sub in this one.

gimmey mid range is dirty. i find some of the synth/reece lines after the drop are a bit cheesy. but thats just my personal taste.

nice work bruv. cheers!

i think there sumfin up with the hats at the beging maybey a little off mix is good nothing seems outa place i like the gateing on the pad works really well but hten that brass synth that cums in to me sounds really naff a bit eightys

espeicially with that piccolo/flute synth, the flutey synth sounds fine on its own tho

i like the build as well by the way maybey the hi end bass cud be a little louder
