damn man
sorry to say but this mix is really of the hook in a bad way :-/
did you ever heard of beatmatching ? I'm not gonna act here like i'm the one that does supreme mixes but at least I TRY to mix clean ... after 15 minutes I started skipping to just the mixes and not one sounded good imho , some you even didn't mix , fe 3am ... I don't wanna spoil your fun but i'm just honest to say that your mix "sucks". Don't post mixes you're not satisfied about imo, did it once, never did again, never gonna do it again till i am satisfied bout one. hopefully you see my point here.
just bein' honest

I'm not going to claim I'm mister big shot dj either but I have to admit Kenshee is right...with all due respect but some mixes are way off (the way you drop Mo Fire fi example), I just hope you can hear that yourself
Realy not trying to diss you but try to beatmatch dude and post a mix on line when you're 200% satisfied with it (main reason why no mix of mine is on line officialy, people say it's good and all that but if I don't like it -> :nono: )

I know I'm not the best dj in the world & it's probably not my best mix either, certainly isn't my best recording
. just wanted to get some feedback from people who know a bit about d'nb that's all. Might try to redo it or make a new one somewhere soon, I'll see.

i take dj'ing a litle more seriosuly than a few other people on here...im not the producer but know some stuff about the mixing aspects...#1 your flow is a little off...you start off with a lot of soulfull stuff, and progressively get harder, which is good, but when you do that stick with the soulfull type stuff...get harder, BUT dont go to dillinja and BC UK...it puts the mix up in the air, and 50% are goint to like it and the other 50 are going to hate it...#2...as far ase mixing goes you need work...on my mix im about to put up i dont have but one mistake and thats only cause my cue was slightly off...but beatmatching is key...i dont understand how people find it so hard...slow record down, lower pitch, speed record up, raise pitch...is it really that hard people? i dont know...but i see its your only mix up there...i like it to be honest, but you need to work on the mixing skills...and the flow could use some work....
keep up the progress. and keep
rinsin

Thanks for the reaction, I've been pactising a lot lately and i think my mixing is getting at least a little better, but I'll have to keep working on it. I'll try to keep in mind the things u said about keeping the flow going, a very usefull hint! - glad u like it

goood practice is very key...youa have you practice as much as you can, practice till you get to the point where you hate all your material...cause thats when you know your getting better...also speed mix...its a really really good drill for mixing...cause you train yourself to hear you beats, and you beatmatch quiker...this is good for if youre doing a 30 min set but want to put in like 20 songs...(ive seen it done)...um...also a good thing to do, is realyl learn your records...knwo every kick, every crash, every bassline of every single one of your records...i knwo it sounds crazy, but to really mix well you have to have cue points...if you dont know cue points then your mixes will also mix in the wrong places making for confusion and a slopy mix...also with that, a good thing to get good BM skills is to make really long mixes...like instead of making a full mix on like 64 beats which i know a lot of people do...do it on 128...so double it and make your mixes longer...that way you have to speed mix, BUT have longer extended mixes...making for very smooth transactions...hope this helps...check out my mix...it will be up soon...keep it up man...

OK I'm going to give it to you straight. Some peole use the kick drum to cue with While some find it easier to cue with the snare drum (me in particular) Just Keep practicing and one day you will notice that you have matched the beats! You will know what a record sounds like when it gets of beat by going to fast or too slow, they are two distinct sounds and youll figure it out. Take the criticism to heart and learn from them. One good way to get better is record everything that you make and listen to each mix to see what you did wrong. That is how I learned. Also if you know of any other dj that knows how to mix well, hook up with them and get their advice too. It doesnt matter what they spin because it is all basically the same on how to cue and beat match. Peace DJ Parash The Grammaton Cleric

Whoa! ... Ok I got it outta the way. At least your trying 2 match em instead of doing those boring old cuts. Also big up for your taste in Jungle/D+B.
Some things that have werked 4 me when in the mix:
1. Keep a good book next 2 your set up or jam some Playstation while your beatmatching. That beat in your headphones is like a wild animal and your watching it from a distance. You wanna get to know it ... study its habits before you move in on it. Pay attention to where that bea(s)t is goin' and how fast. Try not fondle the record 2 much before you know the exact state of the situation.
2. Try paying special attention 2 the hi hats + listen 2 both tracks as one element.
3. Set a few hours aside each day for practice. When your time is up ... KEEP GOIN'!!!!
4. Listen 2 some Andy C before your session. That usually gets me real fired up!!
I'm also not claiming 2 be the bomb ass DJ. I definitely need 2 follow my own advice. I always blow off practice time + need 2 stop. Again these are just a few things that have helped me. You may werk a bit different. Maybe you have a Gamecube. If you wanna get together + mix - i'm down.
