Where do so many artists get giant orchestra samples for their tunes? Do they sample them or something? Confused It's not like they could afford to hire an orchestra to play for them...

Examples:
Danny Byrd: From Bath With Love
E-Z Rollers - Cops Don't Like Us (Brass Orchestra)
Bassface Sascha - Wonderful World
Nero - Solid Air
Oh so many London Elektricity songs
etc.

If you're looking to get some orchestral cues in your pieces, Magnus Choir VST and Edirol Orchestral are very good. Of course then you have to write the parts Smile

Orchestral synths as a whole are getting very good. For the Pirates of the Caribbean 3 soundtrack, most of the orchestra was synthesized and only the soloists were recorded.

Well both e-z rollers do live work and othen sample musicians themselves so probably know the people to record the parts and layer them up to get a big sound

but its also just as likely they have sampled parts from a film or off orchestral recordings.

And they could of programmed it them selves as well

here some videos about London elekricity and their live work and it should give you an insight into how they get their sound..........

edirol orchestral is really phat, sounds lush and loads of ways to tweak the instruments, highly reccomend it......sampling from the score to a film is probably the way most of the artists you mentioned achieve it tho.

The reason orkester sound bank is very nice too imo. I guess those sounds where not synthesized, (as you use them with the sampler) they sound natural and full.

Though, they are not really tweakable and you’d need reason to use them.
