welcome to the forum,
it's advisable to read the subforums and their specific focal threads about producing.
check this thread in the production forum

youve come to the right place for help mate, welcome to the forum. theres been a couple of recent posts about subs on the production q + a forum which would probably help you, plus check out some of the kick drum posts, you will find this will help your sub-kick problem too.

just a quick hint which should help you out. Try to EQ the kick in the frequencies around 100Hz (cut the lows and highs and pump the 100 Hz freq.) and leave a place for sub under 100Hz, that means somewhere around 60 or 70 Hz. Try to experiment, but thats basicly the main idea.

ez ok where do I start wrm has more unless pointed you in right direction what sequencer you using one massive tip I will give you is make sure you are using a analizer where you can see the frequencies try to get one that has bars instead of wavey lines its easier to see where your frequencies peak its all about leaving headroom for kick sub snares hats synths to get threw learn the frequencies theres loads of tips on net look for them ok there is another way of doing this I'm not going to go deep into it but there are videos cubase is especialy designed to do this it can be done in sx3 with some fiddleing but cubase 4 has a special added thing for side chaining ok this is how I exsplain it if you take a dance track for example you here the boom boom boom boom in the beat well listen carefully to the bass what the side chain compression does is ducks out the kick or sub what ever you want it to I.e normally assign the kick to the sub so when ever the kick comes threw it ducks the sub but very quickyl so you don't have to cut any frequencies it does it for you one more thing to know you must have a side chaining compressor hope that helps its a good technique to learn saves a lot of pissing around but learn the frequencies still you may not want to use sc all the time
