SICKO
I got in touch with the sound of drumnbass around the year 2000 , after attending several parties and acting like a sicko i felt the urge to take it a step further. I soon started searching for those liquid beats & flavours in various tunes. Mainly liquid & deep tracks from labels such as Defunked, Soul;R, Renegade Recordings, Hospital, Signature, Liquid V ended in the bag. Later on I developed my style and skills and worked more towards my one and only motive " trying to deliver what the crowd wants "! Which eventually came down to the fact that Im not sticking to one subgenre within Drum 'n' Bass. Just blending my favourite tunes old & new together. Currently Im also working on myown productions , these will consists out of drum'n'bass with a personal & loungy touch . I played alongside artists like : Goldie, Calibre, Marcus Intalex, Paradox, Seba, Lenzman, Commix, Lomax, Wildchild, Martyn, Peyo, Icicle, Switch, Sks, Sweed, Nymfo, Big Head, Millenium Kru, Ace & S-Capade, Pamb & Harsh, Dreazz ...... With a growing passion for music since he was little, kenshee travelled from rock to reggae, from hiphop to house to end up in the world of drum&bass.After buying his first decks & mixer at the age of 18 he started to rinse the heavy dnb sound and you could find him at d&b parties every weekend, this is were he ran into sicko and after some talks and beers, they created the concept called payback. More & more liquid ended up in the bag and it was love at first hearing you can say, so his bag is filled with labels such as hospital, soul:r, signature, defunked, renegade recordings etc. but somewhere deep in the bag there's still place for his older renegade hardware, virus etc stuff, so expect the unexpected from this guy! Nowadays together with sicko(payback crew) he's still travelling through the beautifull world of drum&bass with a future that shows this passion will never die. got infected by the dnb virus by hearing goldie's inner city life,in the year 2000 that was,before that,he was into other electronic-influenced music, but also hiphop.when he heard 'inner city life',it struck him like a lightening. As Madlock went to his first dnb party, he realised the atmosphere was so different from other parties, the people were more friendly and openminded,there was a crowd interaction, & everybody was brocking out to every tune. So after years of partying, He decided to start dj-ing. He bought his first decks in 2003,which were soon replaced by a pair of technics turntables.More and more he became hooked on the deep & melodic influenced dnb...his sets consist of old favorites,mixed with newer tunes & upfront stuff.gigs & bookings brought him to play on several parties,big & small,all over the country,such as Warriorz,Steam,Payback,Mystic Sessions,...He shared line ups with well known belgian djs such as wontime,D convict,juice blenders,Dobe & Daze,Tribblz & Digitt,Millenium Kru,Rudy Rocket,and international artists like Bailey (UK),D-Bridge (UK),Peyo (FR),Yakuza (NL). since 2006,his crewmember z-nox has been his permanent dj-partner in crime,besides rocking the decks solo... also since some time,madlock has started to make his own beats.production is still in the beginning stage,but feedback on his work reveals potential & progress is being made with every tune he writes... catch my on A.I.Mmessenger: mistermadlock
REFUGE
as i began listening to drum n bass around 2003 i was still very enthousiastic about hip hop and rock music. while exploring the landscape of electronic music (mainly techno) i heard roni size's dirty beats. soon new tracks caught my ear on labels such as renegade hardware, metalheadz, hospital, etc. after going to some edition of 'ten days off' with bad company and andy c i saved up my money, bought a mixer, two turntables, a couple records and i started spinning. starting off with spinning jump up records i'm now stranded in selecting some more rougher tracks (DNAudio, renegade hardware, metalheadz, commercial suicide, full force) and alternating those with the more deeper ones (play:musik, horizons). a varied tracklist is what you can expect, though, everything depends on the mood i'm in at that certain moment.
SYNTAX & NEPHTALI
Syntax (steven wandels) is a 24 year old dnb/jungle-dj/producer hailing from Bruges, Belgium. His roots are in the lovely (not!) city of Aalter. After hearing Roni Size - New Forms at the home of one of his friends, he was instantly addicted to the fast ritmes and breaks in the dnb-genre. After 4 years of intensive dj'ing it was obvious the next step was producing... Expect more tunage in 2008.
