Wassup all
I use sidechaining all the time with drums, sub, and breaks etc. using the kick or snare to trigger the sidechain on the breaks or sub. (ducking)
does anyone know how to trigger a ducker with a muted track or sample?
For example, I sometimes mix and bounce my drums down before even starting the arrangement to save cpu, and then start a new project for everything exept the drums.....but once i've done that i cant use the snare or kick to trigger the sidechain.
I'd like to use a muted duplicate of the original kick or snare track to duck the sub or other elements in the track but it seems that if there is no signal going into the ducker then it doesnt duck.
I am using SX3 and the Sonnalksis compressor (which is great by the way)
Can I do what I want to do, or is it impossible?
Can my compressor do it or are there any other plugz that can?
anyway Ive kind of confused myself trying to work it out so any help would be bangin
