Hi Drumnbass.be heds! Thanks 4 all the comments on my previous track, sos ive taken a while to upload some bass patches they can now be found at this link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HNL137XW (let me kno if theres ne problems or ne other questions. The patches are pretty basic but are the start of some jump up wobbly biziniz!). This track that I have uploaded originally started as a jump up track but somehow got very dark along the way…….(but still has a jump up influence) I used Reason 4 and used protools at the studios at my uni to get the track mixed down (I used some outboard compressors + reverb, and controlled the eq, balance and panning on the mixing desk). I also used some different techniques from how I usually work- ie: I bounced down parts of the drums and put it in2 a dr rex sampler which helped me process the drums more, and get more variation and some interesting fills. Cheers, hope u like it, and any feedback would be good! Safe! Timmi.

Kool track.the intro was a bit misleadin but it drops hard and the bassline cuts thru nice.Just change up the drum samples with the same pattern with a few change ups and you will be golden.
the stuff u produce mate - awesome shizzle, u do know your shizzle i gotta tell ya.
the track sounds beefy, everything is equed nice no probs, drum edits are sweet as, good automations.
tbh tho, the first drop didnt have enough impact for me, it doesnt have enuff of a quiet bit before the main bass imo. i rekon a couple of secs of silence before the drop would do wonders.
also one of the drum edits its like a 1/32, 1/64 roll, it sounds a tiny bit out of place - maybe an automation on the filter would be cool on that one. (one of em is at 2:00)
anyways, those r the only things that i could add to this one, brilliant stuff mate. liking what u can do.
peace

revel in the crapness of the website and then hit the add button... go on, do it, u know u wanna
That bassline is amazing!
I'm really feelin all those textures and sounds you get. Very pro-sounding stuff. Beats are solid too. My only complaint with them is that they're a bit too high. I'd EQ them so that they sound deeper, somewhere in the low mids. The crashes are deffo sounding too high I reckon. Otherwise, this tune is really top notch stuff mate. More please sir!
Oh, and big-ups for giving a little insight into how you create your sounds.

cheers Timmi. That is some sick bizniz with the bass dude. OMG i am lovin it. I am lovin the vibe all over this track. The sound quality is great. One thing - the flute thing at around 4:20 is too loud IMO. It blew my ears off
It would be nice to hear some more variety in the drums. Nice track dude! One of the best I´ve heard here in a while...
Sweet tune, dark style wobble bizniz, would be good for a crossover tune between djs.
Agree with the drums comment, something not quite right about them, not the pattern, thats good, but the sound of them.
intro drums have a bit too much resonance, kinda hurts a bit.
nice automation and build up tho, some cool little edits too, keeps things fresh.
1st drop is decent, drums could be a bit beefier to distinguish them from intro drums, nice bass tho and some sweet little breakdowns and build ups, ooh that bass is nice and deep, luv it!
that little drum edit at around 2:33 sent a shiver down my spine, thats good use of glitch-style arrangment, a occasional, dash of it really adds a nice touch.
this track is really good, reminds me a little of some teebee style stuff, its jus let down a bit by the drums, theres nice lows and nice highs (if a little harsh on the highs) but some nice mid range shuffles would really get em rolling.
coll arangment throughout, decent structure, high pitched sound around 4:22 is a bit of ear killer tbh but when the bass comes back in...good stuff.
overall awesome tune, better drums to match the quality of the bass would be most helpful me thinks.
damn good track tho!
SHHHIIIIITTTTT!! awsome as hell this track mate, the bass is proper leathal, ur production has came along way in such a short time here mate a musy say.
Hi guys, cheers for all the comments. it seems the general opinion of this track is that the drums need more work eq wise (+ maybe made a bit more interesting rhythmically), I did do another mix down that with less high frequencies on the drums and more mids, but it sounded dull and I wasn't happy with it. I need to work on my mixdowns i think, and any tips on getting the drums soundin good (i.e. the frequencies I might want to boost or cut for the snare, kick, hats, cymbals etc), or any other mixdown tips, let me kno! Many thanks as always! Timmi

ez Timmi, nice beat work in the intro, almost like a live drummer doin a lil solo, works well with just them and the pads in there
1:30 i'm really feelin that sub - good work thats just how i like em! loads of variations, crazy rhythm very impressive, u really seem to know ur stuff well eh
lots of mad synthage goin on as well.
great stuff, in terms of criticsm i think some kind of melody would work really well on this to help it all flow better, really good sounds there already, but at times it can feel slightly disparate (only nit pickin tho dont get me wrong, this is still very well produced)
Your not kidding that is dark. Nasty stuff. I give everything an "A" with the exception of the drums. The bass patches are disgusting. Same with the pads you've got going on. I think the drum patterns would sound better done differently on the drop. They sound cool as a filtered intro though. I'm not a big fan of cymbals -- that's definitely part of my gripe. Sometimes they add a lot of flavor, but unless they're stuck to a drum kit I usually don't approve.
Overall, real nice job. Very professional sounding.
Like the intro,
The bass line is very sick
The highs sound clear
Like the vocal samples and stabs
The tune still has a overall jump-up sound
This is a nice tune brutha, the only advice I can give would to maybe add an insturment or some more sounds or FX or vocal slices/stutters or somthing to grab the listener a bit more around 2:20, either way the tune is interesting and well worth the listen. Thanks. Z
nice.
snare is a litte bit "flopyy-wristed" and the kick could use little more beef too.
for a track like this i personally would have the nastiest sounding kick and snare sound.
these sound a bit more like liquid beats but programmed for heavy.
very good work. you've gone to a lot of trouble. on a couple different references it's stand out work... it's pretty clear that you made it on some decent gear! well done, great job.. keep it up mate!
I like this track... You know it feels and sounds like a metal headz track to me. For anyone who used to lick the blue note sunday session back in the mid 90's you would understand. Bro you using reason4...ras(you sounding nice man).... i use reason 2.5 with soundforge 6.0 to upload to the samplers nn19/nxt. I think i will step up to 4 soon though. I like your flex. Large up all the while.
Yeah maaan I'm liking this one, I don't really like jump up too much but this has got enough darkness and atmosphere to keep me happy
The drums are a little repetative and could do with a few more change ups and variation. The bassline is filthy. Filthy, I tells ya! I think the drops could be a little more impactive (if that's even a word) but hell yeah! Very crisp and clear production, maybe even too polished for a nasty track like this one.. I agree that the drums have a little too much hi end, it's a fine line between sparkly hats and a wash of high frequency which ain't great on the dancefloor. Nice work tho!
