Ok so I finished this up and gave it some mastering treatment. Seems to be a hot topic round here at the mo so comments bout that welcome as well as about any other part of the production.
Rispek to the guys that commented on the preview
Shin : the vocal was available on a creative commons license from a site called ccmixter.org check it out
Tomos : Big fan of PE too man an yeah I like my rap with a message too but u don't come across too many free to use acapellas of that ilk, send me over a link to that remix you did or hit me on aim (BinaryDnb) I'd love to hear it.
Minas : thnx for the advance crit n some useful ideas
I like the subtle changes in the overall sound of the track, beats and bass are definitely grittier.
Nice drum edits, the reverse breaks and one beat cutouts definitely add the BH touch.
Filter sweep on the intro sounds better.
The breakdown at 2:55 comes a little too suddenly IMO, I think a few transitioning elements (reverse crash, reverse breaks, filtering etc) could make that sound a little more natural. However, the delay on the arpeggiated synth fits well
The word "free" at 3:32 sounds a little out of sync, but it may be impossible to match correctly.
As far as mastering, the whole track seems to be leaning a bit heavy towards the mids and highs, some more bass might balance it out a bit more.
Definitely feeling this tune, will play it at a party and I'm interested in what you'll come up with next
nice pendulum style intro, nice and hip hop....
maybe some percussion with the intro drums would give it more vibe. nice builds up, arrangment is good.
mids and highs seem to dominate the mix a bit too much, not enough bass is coming through. everything is pretty clean and clear, snare sounds a little muddled at times, maybe a harder hitting layer with some snap would define it more.
liking the bass, could use a little more low-end to beef it out tho but sweet ass fllters etc none the less.
everything is pretty damn good tho, nice vocal work, interesting arrangment and overall a phat tune.
good work!
easy now BH, cheers for the info about the sample, will hav a little look see.
right now, i have to say that this is an improvement, people saying that the mix is a little high and middy but i rekon this could be a more of a commercial track so in that case the mastering is good imo. the bass edit when it goes all gritty like is good man, feeling it. 2.12. tbh tho i rekon u could have more of that.
overall good shizzle. would make a good mixer
peace

Yeah, I can hear some nice improvements in this. Well done. The mastering treatment has deffo boosted the overall sound. I'd agree with LSD tho about it sounding high and mid-y. The snare does get a little messy at times too. Sounds like you've layered it too many times.
For some reason, the rapping is sounding better this time around. It flows nicely and has a nice groove. Melodies are solid throughout too. I caught myself nodding me bonce a few times during the course of the tune. Loving that section from 3.40 to 4.23. Everything seems to come together nicely during that section - beats, rapping, melodies.
One thing I noticed about the line "Let's use the music to move the people" - the word "people" sounds cut-off. Once you notice it, it becomes a bit distracting.
But overall, well done. Deffo feelin it.
Oh btw, that remix of the KRS1 tune is on the way. I just gotta put some more edits to it and it'll be ready.

vocals - not my thing but i can appreciate how soem people are into the mix of hip hop/rap & d'n'b, however this 50 cent-esque shit rap is not the best choice for it.
bass - not quite enough of it for my liking. but when the reeses do kick in, they're good.
drums - alright but nothing I havent heard before and nothing that improves this song.
Overall - danceable i suppose but not really listening d'n'b as it gets boring & lacks originatlity.
good to hear a hip hop intro, haven't heard one of em on here for ages
here we go, build-up, haven't heard a BH tune in a while...hmm structure on the intro could flow better, i know its a bit tricker when ur workin with accapellas, i've done a few (although never put any up as they're all copyrighted so wouldn't evr dream of playin that in public!)
soz back to the tune, really wicked synths as per ur usual man, u really get a lot of movement in those sounds!! any tips would help? love the twistedness man, sounds wicked, solid melodies here.
thoroughly enjoyed, sorry couldn't be more technical, its hard for me reviewin tracks from guys like u as ur already on a much higher level than me! but really like this mate, respect
