In metal we call it a Sonic boom. It is a sub bass drop usually used before a breakdown or in dnb before the drop.

can anyone explain to me how to create this extremely low bass hit

Set up a single sine wave, quick attack and a bit of release time. Play a deep note with it.

All that’s missing now is some kind of a click at the beginning of the wave that makes it sound like a hit.

You can achieve that by using a compressor with a low threshold (-27db or something) and a ration around 12:1. Finally push up the compressors gain.

I hope we are talking about the same thing, if not I’m sorry.

Are you talking about a bass hit where the frequency drops also? You could do what he said along with it. What music program are you using currently?
