Old skool liquid, like it. The vocal is slightly off tone with the rest. The early drums should stick out a tad more.
The drums that get introduced at 1:40 are too much bass focused and have to little high end. When the vocals come back in (now they are on tone btw) the drums sound better, but at this stage the drums seem overcompressed. Good structure, good choice of instruments and vocals.

ez mate, nice stabs in the intro beat..cool vocal (nice find Smile ) think a pad of sum sorts with that intro beat would help it sound that tad more wholesome tho

think that your build-up is slightly long, couple things i would suggest, either shorten it by like 8 bars...or just add sum fx (plus maybe sum pitch bending synth for that extra 8 bars so that you feel the drop more)

nice on the drop, but its sounding sloightly empty, i thikn u should chuck a couple more synths in there to get a fuller sound

oh and some sub would be nice too Big Grin

good work so far, needs more sound imo tho!

Yep, deffo liking this mate. Those vocals are wicked, definitely reminds me of Roni Size and Breakbeat Era. There seems to be a lack of low frequencies in this mix. I can't really hear a sub, which is a big shame because it'd sound much better with one. Structure is very good and the melodies are very nice too. I think Battle is right to say some of the melodies and the vocals are off tone, but to my ears at least, it still sounds great. I notice that Size and others also use that technique with their vocals. Just get some louder bass frequencies in the mix and this could be a great tune mate. Big Grin

nice shit this one, always was a fan of the strong vocals and low down womp basses. yeh that build is a little long and dry - also i dont like those drums on the build, sound a little too dirty and gritty, maybe a filter on them with a roll? there is a high pitched synth which is a little high for me (imagine that at ear splitting club levels) that i rekon could be toned down or filtered slightly. yeh the BD was definately right about the vocals being slightly off, giv em a tweak and they will be perfect tho. also the bass on the build sounds like its overlapping with each other? if you change the polyphony on your synth to 1 - making it a monosynth then that would sort it. anyways, i will definately be looking at the final version of this, very good ideas on this one.

peace
