Please check out my new track 'Living Under The Ice' and post your comments here!
Started this one about 2 weeks ago and managed to finish it a few days ago. I tried to create an atmospheric tune with lots of electro, synthy sounds and melodies - my usual style.
Big thanks go to BattleDrone and Darkstar for their comments and suggestions on an earlier version. *Hat tip to Darky for his inspiration behind the track title.*
Also, big, big thanks to everyone that reviewed and voted on my previous tune! I'd kiss you all if you weren't such ugly cunts.

As usual the synth work is very nice. Production wise this track is very good.
I think the beats could be improved a bit. IMO, they lack power and don't build very much over the course of the piece. I think this is due to a rather subdued hihat/ride sound. There is some nice variation though in the sequencing.
One big exception is the half-time beat at 2:03, which is fucking awesome. I wouldn't complain in the least if you decided to sprinkle it in other places throughout the tune
Melodies are very nice, I like the lead at 3:30.
Without trying to remake your tune at all, I think that some longer, sustained vocals would work over the ending portion of the track, after 4:00. Kinda like what you had going on in 'Reigning Colours'
Nice blend of synth textures throughout. I didn't know what to make of it at first but its really growing on me after subsequent listens.
I dont think the drums are lost in the mix, I think its because your so mesmerized by the lush synths, because once again you bring so much texture to the table, brilliant.
not alot to complain about, I would like to hear that half time a lil more like minas said.
structure sounds real tight, like the effects on the vocals makes em sound like they were made for this track.
Like the track name too, def. fits
Good tune bud, high scores are coming your way. maybe get a 320 to bump in the ride if ya dont mind....pretty please

@ Minas - I pretty much agree with all your suggestions mate, thanks for your thoughful review. Deffo gonna extend the half-step vocal part. Everyone who has heard the track is feelin that part.
I also like your idea about the sustained vocals.
@ SI-FI - Glad ya liking it bro.
@ 2clix - cheers mate, I knew I could count on ya. I'm stoked you're feelin it, took quite a bit of work this tune. Check your PMs for the 320.
Btw, nice new twisted avatar.

easy now, proper bo tune from the one like the tomos - atmos/melody/women vibes king! all hail!
anyways - agree with all the suggestions. u getting sneaky tips from all the mods now eh? but yeh cant really add anything which hasnt been said already but - this is only personal opinion but i rekon the tune lacks a bit of a hook - the vocals are good (the high ones) and i reckon u should use them in the start a bit more - they are very distinguishable so if you have em before the drop, people will hear this being mixed in and go mental, spill their drinks and girate in a groovy manner. anyways, as always, good shizzle.

revel in the crapness of the website and then hit the add button... go on, do it, u know u wanna
yet ANOTHER Tomos tune - I feel so previledged!
lol
really likin the beat from the get go, wicked synths in the intro creating a really cool vibe...oooh here comes there melodies at 1:00 - likin that loads! man as i always say its tough reviewin ur tracks cuz eveything works so well theres nothing to do but nit pick!
i guess my only (minor) criticism would be to (boringly) agree with Shin in that there needs to be more of a hook - don't get me wrong all the melodies work realy well together and flow nicely, think that you get that slight bit more identity with this one, it almost flows too well (if that makes any sense lol) that a bit of a sudden change in melody between build up and main part would help get that identity
right I've blabbed and nit picked enough mate - overall, wicked tune much respect to one of the best producers on this website
nice track quite same style as me for the time
i've got a tune to put on the site
i've to wait i think u'll like it ,made by reason
ur break sounds wicked !between nu tone and logistics !good!!
sorry it took so long mate, I was consumed in a lot of stuff
sounds really good right off, some smart use of reverbs early on
not sure on the "eh" vocals, not really fitting. it's easy to spot faults when everything is clean, and this really is on spot productionwise
around 1:32 - I'd start from that as you don't really need the stuff before
again cool sounds in the half beat section, the vocals here are spot on. a somewhat dissapointing drop, not that bad but IMO as the tune has such a sad note, it would be great with a super huge epic drop-break sequence
top marks for the sounds, especially like that reverbated lead, sounds is really organic which is hard to chuck in dnb
after listening a few times I'm not really sure what is the main theme, a bigger drop would make up for this, also IMO it could be a lot better if it had parts with full on synths and contrasting empty parts in between.
some great ideas and good sound, lets hear the next!
@ Shin. Yep, a lot of peeps are saying it's lacking a lead melody. I deffo need to sort that out. I'm never actually any good at lead melodies, I never know how to write them. (When I used to play rock music, I'd always be on rhythm guitar or most oftenly on bass. I was never a lead guitarist). Agreed about the vocals too. Nice one.
@ Ketz. The privilege is all yours mate.
I agree about the lack of a hook. Also, perhaps I need a little twist, or change-up somewhere like you said, just to make it a bit more exciting.
@ garsymor. Glad ya feelin it mate. Any plans to upload that tune you mentioned?
@ Wally D. Thanks. Drop me a PM if you still want an MP3 of this (free of course).
@ Walcor. Cheers bud. The vinyl is just being cut as we speak... oh, I wish
@ cynik. Better late than never, cheers. I was thinking that you were gonna tear into it tbh - so thanks for not doing that!
Agreed about the lack of a hook, and maybe I need a bigger drop. I don't think I'm good enough yet to pull off a super huge epic drop-break sequence tho! Actually, I could try doing that in my next tune...

I would like to live under the ice
Nice melodies and sounds. I think the drums are ok in this way.
Im just sitting and listened it to several times and i cant say anything else.
Good work
