Please check out my new track 'Unnamed' and post your comments here!

hey guys, im just starting with producing dnb, this track here is maybe my sixth dnb attempt so i need a lot of reviews and suggestions Smile im using fl studio 7, have played around with it for a bit, mostly doing hip-hop beats and a bit of psychedelic trance.
now to the track: i found the vocal sample on http://www.dailywav.com/, great site btw. its from babylon 5, by Andreas Katsulas (G'Kar).
the whole track sounds more like a mix of two, i made the end just for fun. its all not mastered yet too, just a longer "preview" Big Grin
aight, check it out, im looking forward to your reviews!

I like the sound of delayed and reverbed synth, sub in my opinion is good, mid bass is good (boring for me a bit).
About beat. I think u should process amen break more. Default amen hats sound blurry and the sub is trying to kill a kick. Try to find qualitative break or layer its elements with others.
Snare at 2:44 definitely needs to be processed, it doesnt have "punch", sounds very sandy and kills dynamics. Also i completely dont understand the idea of 4:00-4:54, this seems to be from another tune.

I must say i love 1:48 drop and especially 1:58+ Drummer Overall i like the first part of track.

Make 2 tracks out of.. 2 tracks...
hear worse things as a first track. Needs a bit of mastering.

the beats in this are pretty awsome for not havin much experiance with drum n bass, did u produce them from scratch or r they a break sample?

the bass end sound slightly under produced but its a cool idea.

nice use of filtering tho, some of the resonance on the drum filtering sound a bit much tho IMO

pretty cool track but it seems like its just the beat that carry it, the other elements seem too under produced.

thx for the reviews Smile
the first beat is a breaksample, the second one starting at 2:44 is selfmade.
and yeah, track isnt mastered yet, have to do that. problem is i dont really have much experience mastering lol...

Not bad for an early effort mate. I've certainly heard worst. What you need to focus on (and this is usually the case for most new dnb producers) is trying to create one full coherent tune, rather than a collection of different loops. You have most of the ingredients for a cool tune but try to resist the temptation to put all your ideas into one tune. Concentrate on the really, really strong stuff and lose the rest. Sometimes you have to be a bit ruthless. The best part for me is from 1.11 to 1.45. The bassline is good and the amen break works nicely with it. From 3.30 onwards the track definitely turns into another track. Personally, I would lose this section altogether and concentrate on building up the drop. Try out some different bass edits and beat fills. Even changing a hi hat patten can be enough to add variation into a beat. Btw, I didn't like how you changed the snare sound half way through. I'd stick to just one sound.

Some good ideas tho mate, you've got potential for sure.

2nd what tomos said! cool track this - altho im not a fan of amens, not going to effect the scorage just saying - sounds a bit slow imo too. the snare which comes in over the amens sounds a bit out of place - fiddle round with the eqing in that one. yeh, does sound like a 2nd track coming in, and you could definately make another tune out of it, if you wanna change just go to the breakdown and leave that bit. having said all of that, sterling ideas in this one, definately like the sample, adds an eariness to it, theres a few effects on the amens which are cool too, 1:08 to 1:10 - how did you do that btw?

peace
