Hey,
Mijn naam is Bart Goossens. Ik studeer audiovisuele kunst en ben
heel erg geïnteresseerd in de relatie beeld & muziek (videoclips etc...).
In de nabije toekomst wil ik deze relatie ten volle gaan bespelen in het
project met werktitel "Visiophonics" . Hiervoor ben ik op zoek naar
een elektronisch muzikant om samen aan de slag te gaan.
De bedoeling van "Visiophonics" is om samen met een muzikant
een audiovisuele compositie te gaan maken. In de praktijk komt
dit neer op een muzieknummer met videoclip, met dat verschil dat
regiseur en muzikant evenveel invloed hebben op het geheel en
elkaars werk beïnvloeden. Dit wil zeggen dat we samen aan de
slag gaan met enerzijds bestaand beeldmateriaal, waarvan het
oorspronkelijke geluid eventueel als samples en loops kan gebruikt worden,
en anderzijds muzieksamples/loops/synths/... De compositie zou starten
met een soundscape en de geluiden zouden uiteindelijk in de plooi vallen
tot een harmonisch geheel, een muzieknummer.
Qua beeld/montage-stijl denk ik aan de visuals van veejays op partys
(vb. zie www.exceeda.co.uk) en de stijl die Chris Cunningham gebruikt
in de Aphex Twin -clip van het nummer "Come to daddy"

Qua muziekgenre kan alles, zolang je maar open staat voor experiment.

Voorlopig is dit nog beperkt tot deze oproep maar ik probeer de
site zo snel mogelijk aan te vullen met meer voorbeelden...

My name is Bart Goossens. I'm a student in Audiovisual Arts.
I'm interested in the relation image&music (music videos,etc...)
In the near future I plan on fully exploring this relation in my
new project which I call "VISIOPHONICS". Therefore I am searching
for a musician who makes electronic music to work together.
The goal of "Visiophonics" is to make an audiovisual composition in coöperation
with a musician. This compostion can be seen as a song with a music
video, with the important difference that director and musicion
both have the same influence on the whole composition and that
they have a big influence on eachothers work. This means that
we'll work together with (exisisting) footage of which the original
sound can be used as samples and loops on one side and musical
samples/loops/synths/... on the other side. The composition should
start off as a soundscape and those sounds should finally
be united in a harmonical "sort of song".
Regarding the style of editing I'm thinking about vj-style visuals
(for example www.exceeda.co.uk) and the style as it is used by
Chris Cunningham in the Aphex Twin music video for "Come to daddy".

Every musical style is possible, as long as you're into experiments!

I live in Brussels (most of the time) So if you're from BXL too that's
a big advantage (but it's not necessary offcourse!)

i've been lookin' for someone like you! I have this project "being depth" where we are lookin' for someone who can do visual aspects.
I also wanted a video for my electrojazz projects.
