i would like to know which is the best low pass filter to use in reason. I'm using reason 3 so its sort of limited to that but, nevertheless, which would be the best for a grizzly bassline.

Filters ?

The instruments and effect modules in Reason 4 are exactly the same as in reason 3 apart from maybe one or two additional new instruments !
Like the mighty power of "Thor" for example !!!
Yeah you should upgrade just for Thor !
Lmao.

Ok so ...
Why don´t you try layering different basses together.
Detune them a few cents etc ...
Lower the octaves !!* - for a more GRIZZLY sound. HaHa.
Add some phasers, Chorus or whatever, maybe a bit of unison and some scream4 tape dist.
[Copy, Paste, Layer, Repeat] !!! = Texture and big tuneage !Drummer

Also combinators are useful for making big instruments and or fx by combining multiple instruments and fx together and a 6:2 line mixer !

And I´m bored now ...

So I´m outtie.

aint there only one filter module in reason 3? use that!!!

agree with the sentinal about combinig (use a 14:2 mixer tho :p), effects, distortion, unison, filter. dont forget to layer up with a sub bass as distortion usually takes away from the sub moving stuff.

weird question, all modules (subtractor, d:rex, nn19, nn-xt,...), not to mention the eq's, have different low pass filters and freq/cut-off sliders, so.... if those aren't enough, i really don't know a valuable answer..

Yeah I was going to say either a 6:2 or a 14:2 but I forgot to type it !
Mweh ! - Yeah 6:2 mixer if you only need one aux channel.

And 14:2 ... Well you can use up to 4 different fx mods !

So yeah 14:2 is better unless you are going to be adding the fx mods directly to the instruments without wanting to control the dry/wet value of it.

Yes there is only one filter module in Reason but each instrument also has various filters built into them ...
most common ones being:
notch, Lowpass - Lp12 + Lp24, Bandpass - Bp12, Highpass hp12 etc ...T
The others being comb+, comb- & am.

The mighty Thor has many different filters including 5 different Lowpass filters & all the others mentioned above !
