Please check out my new track 'May' and post your comments here!!!

hey everyone, i made this track a few days ago, not quite finished yet.

Still needs some more drum fill attention before the bassline drops and also masterin. Hope u all like it.....if not why? cheers....

Oh does anybody know how to shrink mp3 files without losing the length of it?

It will only let me upload 1 min 30 secs of it so i had to chop a bit of the intro off....

hey there, nice intro, nice groove. The kick seems to be too mufled. The drop is too chaotic imo. All the sounds together drown the break which is way too in the backround. The bass is too loud imo and it misses some low end. The EQ side of this track in general is not well. You should concentrate on that some more. The ideas are good. I like the groove and melodies. I somehow dont get your problem with track length. I have no problem uploading my 5 min long track...

Sounds a bit lifeless and muffled overall, but not too bad.
Too bad it is so short, maybe you should lower the bitrate of the mp3 when encoding it from your daw and go for 192kbps or even 160 which still sounds fine.

cool vibealage coming off of this one! reminds me of driving back muntered from a rave at 7 in the morning (oops, not drive.. i meant get the train mr. policeman Wink )

anyways, the jazzy melodies are sweet as, chilled and laid back, definately agree with the comments about the drums sounding muffled and in the background, eq em and turn em up. tbh im not really feeling the bass, could do with some more edits on maybe the filter or process them more with some more effects. could do with dropping the intro sounds when the tune drops too to add more punch to the drop.

anyways, sort it and repost - this would make a good morning tune.

btw dont worry bout negative comments - it makes me try harder. peace

Nice everything is nice until the 1.00 drop...that peep sound ...not feelin it..and that prr bass...man u have a really nice superb mellow tune ...real class, but that beep and bass at the drop...man that was weird...imo...

I suggest changing the instruments...defo

remake the drop to sound little more mellow not that hard and ull have a NICE tune and the drum...could use more oomhp and less trance like...other hats and snare...guess they need some brightness...there really back there..imo

and that mp3 ting...if ur using FL I use the interpretation to shrink them!?...

Hope it has been some help

nice job on the first part btw

Cheers

Cheers for the replies and comments chaps....

Really helps.....

Not sure if ive told ya but i dont use studio monitors at all, got baby twins so i have to keep the noise to an absolutle minimum.

Been using 10 quid headphones till my mate lent me some Syniesers...thank god....

Dont get much time to make beats to be honest but when i do get time i'll be reading through what you lot put and getting to work!

Cheers guys!

Agree with nearly all the comments so far on this one, especially walcor's. The intro is excellent, vibe wise. The jazzy, mellow melodies would sound fantastic in a smoky, low-lit club/pub in the wee hours of the morning. Rasta

The beats need a lot of work tho. They are very thin. There's not enough punch and energy from them.

Like the others have already said, there's enough here to make a really cool, chilled tune. Keep working it on mate, I'm liking your style.

The kick drum put me off a little, sorry. I don't know what it needs, but I think it needs changing.

hello mate, thanx for reviewin my track, here's my review in return.. Wink

yep from the start i can already agree with the others that the groove is really cool from the get go,

like the stop - start idea from around 1:17 but i think its almost a bit too broken up, could possibly fill some of those empty bits with sum hihats or other percussion to keep the flow goin?

the actual vibe is kinda jazzy / ambient stuff, im feelin it on a musical level

again, agree with the others that the EQing needs a bit of attention, at points some of the sounds are fighting with each other to be heard.

but overall, really good stuff - keep up the good work mate! Big Grin
