I don’t think that loudness is the key for a good sounding tune. Like in your case the drums start to sound muffled and loosing definition and some punch. Try more dynamics…maybe that helps. You might want to eq your bass differently. It’s present in a wide range of frequencies what makes it kinda hard to introduce other elements and what also let your drums sound less clear.
