EZ

I think you may have missed the concept of this rewire business

You don't need to rewire Massive to Ableton

Massive is a VST instrument, therefore just open a new project in Live, navigate to your plug ins folder in the browser window down the left hand side of the screen, then drag and drop massive onto an empty midi track and thats it, away you go.

Rewire enables you to link together 2 standalone applications such as Ableton Live and Reason and have them run alongside and in sync with each other.

Press play on live, Reason starts playing in sync at same tempo etc

Particularly useful as reason, as has been widely discussed on here recently, does not support vst or audio input. This means that you can route reasons audio into audio tracks in Ableton and then apply vst effects that Live does support.

Hope that makes some sense

Peace

Ableton live came free with my m-audio midi.
I installed it, looked at it, uninstalled it.
HaHa.

I'm not sure sure about all this rewire stuff meself.
I recently tried to rewire reason to FL8 which ok yes let me use the VsT's but it turned Reason into the slave program.

I was wondering if you can make Reason the master program in control ?
I'm not that keen on FL and I'd much prefer it to be there doing nothing in the background with the voxengo plugin runnin'.

Figured as much ...

It would be nice if they added some new stuff into the next reason though.

Like maybe a Spectrum analyzer and some better equalizers amongst other things.
More mastering tools.
Etc ... Etc ... Blah Blah Blah ...
0ot.
