Right then, I'm still using Reason 3. I really enjoy messing with Reason 3, but sometime (actually quite often) I struggle to create sounds that I'm actually after. For example, my track up at the moment (Feeding Hand) requires a thick dirty bassline, which I can't achieve very well using Subtractor or Maelstrom (?)... I have had to use a cracked version of Massive (which I'm not keen on doing) to get a correct(ish) bass sound.

So my question is, can Thor create sound that Massive, FM8 or Absynth very easily and at a similar quality???

I tried out Reason 4 during the Beta trials. Personally I didn't like the program and I told Propellerheads that Big Grin But I'm sure I could adjust. Then again, I didn't give 4 a massive chance due to the program closing after 20 mins Mad

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

get a keyboard guitar. hook it up to a DX10 and play some stevie wonder. that always cheers me up.

you can get that sound with substractor/malstrom by layering and distorting

so are you saying Thor isn't worth the upgrade????

I used to mess with FM 8 and Absynth and get wicked sounds out off them. Can Thor not create these???

fm8 does a lot, absynth does more then any other synth. fractal synthesis started with absynth.

Huh reason can do it just try harder.layer more that one malstrom and subtractor into a combi. alwyas distrotion .. and thor is worth the upgrade. Smile Wink

it makes a LOT of difference since its more modular than anything in reason before. google or youtoube thor videos to see what Im on about
