In 2001, Phobia’s potential was seen when he met BBC 1Xtra's L Double through a mutual friend, Phobia was quickly snapped up and started releasing on L Doubles, ‘Flex Recordings’ over the next few years. In 2004, MC Verse, also feeling Phobia’s output, passed on Phobia’s music to Clayton at ‘Renegade Hardware’, which helped see Phobia’s first, of many releases, on the label with the highly regarded ‘Positive Vibes’.
Continuing a number of high profiled releases on ‘Renegade Hardware’, most notably his massive remix of Dylan & Ink’s ‘Need U’ and appearing on various albums and EP’s including his own EP ‘All Points North’ which received a huge response from the scene.
Phobia also took time to release on a various other major labels including ‘Critical Recordings’ with the amazing ‘Future Soul / Mandalay’ release in 2004, a number of outstanding releases on ‘Renegade Recordings’, highlighting his form with the highly praised ‘Mercury’ in 2005, Phobia has also been indemand with releases on Hive’s high quality, ‘Violence Recordings’, MC Verses ‘Crunch Recordings’, Spirit’s ‘Inneractive Music’ imprint, Loxy & Keaton’s label ‘Xtinction Agenda’ and ‘Universal Project’s’ imprint. 2008 see’s one of the years most anticipated releases, Phobia’s second ‘Renegade Hardware’ EP entitled ‘What Has Become’.
Phobia is also one of the scene’s leading deejays, customary to the international and European scene he is also a regular at the legendary ‘Renegade Hardware’ nights.
Phobia also runs and is resident deejay at the ‘Turbulence’ nights in Newcastle UK, spanning over ten years the night has quickly established itself as one of the biggest and best drum and bass nights in the North of England which have helped to perfect Phobia’s deejay skills making Phobia not just in demand for his production but his deejay sets are not to be missed moreover.
