I'm hesitant to make the switch, cause I dont want to lose all my stuff and I would need to reinstall abunch of software but if thats what it takes to make everything smoother....I guess im donating $99 to microsuck

Vista does not make anything smoother, if that is your only reason to switch, then don't. Actually the only reason I see to switch to vista for the moment is if your new computer comes with a copy of it.
from the serato forum I learned that it can run with vista, but several users experience some problems.
I don't seem to find any info quickly about how final scratch runs on vista

i think xp is generally more stable, and you should have less issues than vista. ive use mixvibes dvs and it works fine on xp but vista cant really deal with the soundcard or something. i reckon vistas quite bait for music shit for the moment.

its a shame they are discontinuing xp as with the new service pack (3!!) it out-performs vista
vista is so shit that they already have a new version of windows in production lol
mind you i cant talk i run vista
