Hey guys,

this might be a stupid question, but I dont know how to make distorted breaks... Do I need some VST for doing this or is there some technique for this?

Im asking this because Im so into this darkstep, and I wanna make very distorted sounds.

check out izotope trash, sweet distortion plug-in with loads and loads of options for tweaking, can get some crazy sounds that VST, im not a fan of distorting breaks, colors the sound a lot and always difficult to fit into a mix with distorted bass, a little subtle distortion on a break tho can alter the sound and add some grit to the drums, good for darkstep but i wudnt reccomend going mad with distortin breaks and it'll cause all sorts of problems later on.

it would probably be a little wiser to use distorted samples already rather than distorting your own breaks.
you will have more control over the overall sound that way.

try messing more with filters i'd say.

camel phat 3 is good for distortion too, looooooove automating the filters on that bad boy, built in flanger n compressor r shit but the filters are spot on imo.

I use The Nightmare Machine and a bit of compression..

Hi man, I tried to google that nightmare machine because my intrests got up. I just found stories etc which tell that there is no more nightmare machine... if thats true, could u upload it?
