That last picture is totally rinsed... used on every 10th flyer I guess...
But as a painting it has a certain dynamic yep. I see that as Liquid Funk or maybe Jump Up.

I don't like 2-step beats, there is no energy in it
|
it depends what background music you come from originally.
i come from a hip-hop, reggae and commercial dance music background, while growing up.
(not parents, but my own tastes before dnb)
i presume those that say it doesnt have enough energy (dancelfloor or liquid), come from a rock, metal, techno background.
it makes me laugh how much juxta positioning there is between
people in the same scene. |
I, some might find strange, used to listen to A LOT of trance, back in 95/96, after which I switched to progressive trance, which I listened to till 2002 (allthough I started with DnB in 99). And trance has extremely straight beats, so I'm not sure what that has to do with it. For DnB, it's just different. I need more snares!

Sure, but I have yet to hear that one!
Nope, to me it's just the groove of that break that doesn't do it for me, whatever the phat sounds and evil basslines are used in the track...

I used to think so too, until 5 years ago, when more tracks with evil non-2-step beats started coming out and I started enjoying that energy
