I saw THIS movie on YouTube and although the music is not very good I like the idea of visualising DnB... what images do you connect to DnB?
Please specify the style because I can imagine Liquid doesn't give you the same visual impressions as Hardstep
.

intresting topic,
it's actually something i've been thinking about doing for a longtime, creating a long mix or tune or whatever and have someone freely create a sequence of animated images on that...
strangely enough most music i associate with colours, rather abstract images and spaces, with sung songs fictional people and situations
but that's exactly what's so exciting about most instrumental music (imo), it moves you in a very abstract undescribable way and makes you feel colours, see sound, hear food, and taste light ...

abstract, yeah, must be abstract. like -J- said; I'd like to add: nothing can add that kind of visualisation to the people capable of visualising, at the same time cannot move closer the idea of visualising to people not able to do it...
therefore the actual dnb visualisation cannot represent the "true" images
in dnb that I like theres everything hyperbolated - love, anger, force, peace, order, chaos....
its the moment youre standing there and cant sense anything anymore but feel the sound, as a combination of feelings stimulated by the sound - and let it rip through you fills you with such images which come as half-way materialization of feelings that overload you.
if that makes any sense

yeah dnb is indeed very good for visualisation . I also always wanted to make a video , do some freeruns and place a fat dnb track on it.
1: when i started listening to dnb , i was realy impressed by the beats n basses and i could visualise a bigger thing behind it , imagining different images and imagining how the big parties would look like... but then it stopped while i got to know it.
2: Later on i learned its more important to 'feel' the tracks and whats behind it , like a musical drug (for me techstep,hardstep and darkstep are style that let me feel the energy in it , resulting in happyness and dancing ) and as producer to give people the energy you create with your music.
thats why liquid dnb never interested me , there is no energy in it .
3: Now i want to make good technical tracks with still the energy in it , trying to bring perfect structures , good musical value and a full spectrum of frequencies , yes yes EQing and mastering took the upperhand now

have you ever heard some cyantific tunes (be true, quiet stars, little green men, ...), or high conrast tunes like racing green, return of forever, if we ever ... have you ever heard mistical dub drop on a banging sound system ..?
just to name the first examples that come to mind, but i'm kinda guessing you have a wrong image about what liquid dnb is ...
just defending my territory, but it annoys me a bit that "liquid dnb" always gets associated with those overloaded atmospheric energyless tunes ... while a lot of liquid is musically more moving then a techy tune could ever be ...

I remember a guy on here who started a thread on here because he wanted a soundtrack for a very abstract video he did, I searched for the thread but couldn't find it anymore. The result was very cool, the soundtrack was made by someone on here and it was pretty rough. Anyone else remember it?
I always liked those XMIX videos they showed on MTV in the 90's... Techno is also great for abstract videos

That's quite subjective. I can aspire my feelings more with a techy, dark energetic tune than with liquid. But that's me.

it depends what background music you come from originally.
i come from a hip-hop, reggae and commercial dance music background, while growing up.
(not parents, but my own tastes before dnb)
i presume those that say it doesnt have enough energy (dancelfloor or liquid), come from a rock, metal, techno background.
it makes me laugh how much juxta positioning there is between
people in the same scene.
to say we listen to a genre that goes from a minimum of 160bpm............

but thats the point of most music , there is not enough energy when its suposed too
liquic can be very energetic if you make some kind of new genre of it
a 2 step track can allso be the fattest energetic track you heard .
