Please check out my new track 'Ethnic shift' and post your comments here!!!
Made in fl7
I wanted to use a sitar in a track, but I have no idea what the chords are for them so I just kinda winged it
this still needs alot of variation
the build ups need alot of work
and I dont really know about the bassline just yet
pretty much just seeing what you guys think it needs and what I should take out/change
I think the chanting might become a little obnoxious after awhile as well
your feedback is greatly appreciated .be
peace

I kinda like the intro "as is" it needs a bit more of a spalsh to go to the main part. The sitar should not be there all the time, you play it like pads, but you should use it as a melody. The vocal does get obnoxious... after 5 seconds, it's too bussy for this track. Don't like the tearing basses, they don't fit somehow. The sitar is a rather soft snare instrument and you used it in a Prodigy style track... I'm afraid that ain't gonna work.

Fucking love what you do with that Indian vocal. I have that same sample in my sample bank but I've never used it cos I can never get it to sound right - but you've done an excellent job getting that to sound so different and so cool. Fits this track perfectly.
Yeah, you've slightly over used the sitars. Like Battle basically said, you shouldn't be using them to form your main melodies. They are usually best used as a flavour enhancer or lead.
I love the general melody behind this tune. Got a really heavy feel. I love that shit.
Beats are huge. Massive kick and snare. I'd take some of the low frequencies off the kick tho, just to give the bass some more breathing space.
The distorted bassline defo needs tweaking and cleaning. It's causing mahem in the low-to-low mid section. If it sounded more like a sub it would probably be a lot better imo, especially when the vocals are on. But when the vocals are turned off however, the distorted bass sounds good.
Would love to remix and tweak this mother fucka if you're up for it?
I continue to love your tunes man!

I think you should change the sitar to another instrument and if you want to use sitar you have to use it for shorter notes with more attack. I'd cut some lower freq from the kick and add some sub to the bassline. The rewind sample is not fit with your tune. You should throw out or add some fx. I like the vocals but its too much, i mean sometimes the lesser is more.
On the whole i like your tune and waiting for the final version.
Keep it up!
