Hello again fellows!
I have this little crush... Im in love with creating intros!
I want to ask you guys (and gals?) when you are creating intros how do you come up with the ideas, do you use pads, atmos? Slow or quick intros? What kinda intros are the hot stuff in drum n bass music scene right now?
I like to create ambient-style intros... Everytime I start now project, and I wanna know what kinda intros you are into? Because if ambient-sounded intros arent so in or something please make me stop !
Yes yes, the sky is the limit in music...
And of course, I listen dnb music mainly but I wanna know these kinda stuff
Help the novice!
Love, dn_nb

Check the tunes on here... see how the ones with a good rating are made.
I hate making an intro because it's hard to make something decent that doesn't give away the whole tune from the start. And when you are finishing a full track you hear the intro about 500 times before you're done and by that time I hate the sound of it.

Haha, I have the same problem, but its not in the intro section... Usually I make the intro in one time, few fixing etc but I get bored with the main sound by the same way. Thats why I have like 200 unfinished projects, just because I got bored with them. :-P

i quite like my own intros.
i make them all, whatever style, sound atmospheric.
if you want a tekky intro, start with some nice digital sounding samples,
like some technoey stabs and synth hits.
then add some sweeping synths and ambience and vocals.
if you want a more soft sound, go for natural and acoustic sounding samples.
start with your beat first tho... a beat will always get you in the mood and drives inspiration like nothing else does.
then put other sounds around them.
after that, you can always rearrange the beat structure to fit what you want.

Ah this is so hard! But fun tho. :-P Thank you for these infos.
Seven Gun, after your post I started to think and I came to that conclusion that beat at the start is important for getting in the mood when I listen music.
Funny that I didnt figured it out sooner.
Thanks!
