Yeah, the Bad Company stuff then was amazing. All the tracks on The Fear E.P are good.
Same with Ed Rush and Optical. Highly recomend there album Wormhole, also there singles Watermellon, Medicine (RM
and the Twisted EP (not actually Ed Rush, but still on Virus)
Also big track at the time by Bad Company were : The nine, The Pulse (I prefered the B side 'China Cup') and the Twisted EP I mentioned above.
Also check out Rymetyme and Trace - Move VIP -on 1210
Dom & Rolland tracks, Can't Punish Me, Iceberg, Killer Bullet and Homicide
Also check out dillinja. I knew this track as Fluid, but just now, 10 Years later, I discover I have been calling it the wrong name
http://www.discogs.com/release/9854
Usual Suspect were good back then, with tracks like Killer Bees and Holepunch
oh yeah, Jonny L, the Ram stuff back then, Dylan and loads more...

Yeah mate. I think it was a very influential time for what people are creating now. There were some amazing tracks coming out then. It was a bit like the way Hardcore exploded in 92 with all the new sounds. Personally, I think it fell flat again around 2002. I know a lot of jungle/dnb dj's who knocked it on the head then...
I must admit, Hard Noize (can't believe I called it Fluid for 10 years!) always sent shivers down my spine. Used to love dillinja stuff back then. Really liked his Ancoats too Zambia (?) remix and the Picture on the Wall track on V, then I thought it all went down hill with Grimey EP.
It was the same with Bad Company. I worshiped there stuff untill they did Digital Nation, then everything changed. I also loved Ed Rush & Opitcals works untill Dr Shadey (?), just sundenly, the music wasn't soundscapes that could be fused to create a new alien world, they were actual proper songs, which couldn't be mixed the same way and had a limited shelf life.
I think this is why I don't rate Pendlum and a lot of the new wave of dnb. Even the Liquid stuff back then was better written, not that I'm really a liquid fan. I think a lot of the d'n'b now days is being created by kids who grew up on d'n'b, unlike back in the 90's when it was still a new form of music. This means that the influences are different. Which is noticable in the way it is prodomenantly amen and reece rince outs and lacking the other influences like funk, jazz, hiphop and reggae that used to widen the sounds and make the tracks more interesting.
Anyway, rant over

Some very true points brother, not so much a rant but a saying of how it REALLY is.
What happened to Dillinja around that period?? Sold out?? Got bored?? Who Knows?..
Same with Bad Company, to say i worshiped is their material doesn't do it justice, i lived for their releases and then they started to make tunes with less impact and feel imo..
Early 2001-02 was without doubt a anti-climax after the late nineties.
One final thing, i am sick to death of hearing that kind of snare pendulum and sub focus use all the time. I fuckin hate it!!!!
Bring back The Wormhole days man...

Something that makes me really sick is the fact that Ed Rush & Optical released an album that sounded like it was made by Pendulum (except for 1 track).
What a a giant sellout!
It's not because the nineties are gone that we can not keep the vibe alive and do our thing. I didn't grow up on DnB and I refuse to copy other peoples tracks, I will try to do my own thing.
