i dont think theres any super easy way into finding the key of a vocal sample, or any other sample for that matter. I think it just comes down to having a good ear for the music. Personally, if i have a melodic sample that i like (vocal or other) that doesnt fit the key of my tune i will play along with the sample with my synth untill i find a note that goes with the sample all the way through. So if i hold that single note and it fits with the sample nicely, it usually seems to be the key of the sample.

Then i will hold that note in my head (maby whistle it out loud) and work out how many semi-tones the key of the sample is away from the key of my tune, then pitch shift accordingly.

hope that helps
