Just got an idea...
DnB Ringtone competition
No subbase allowed (you won't hear it anyway). Just the midrange and a bit of high end is available.
It should be very typical DnB (drum action, no intro) as you want other people to recognize the style when you get called.
Track length max 1 minute.

i dont like comps where you're being limited. e.g. drums n bass only, not more than 3 mins etc..
cant we just remix a tune with a solid theme/subject posted by one of the members? everyone grab a tune and put it in a voting. the winner gets asked to provide it for the comp?

A competition with no limits is actually what's going on on this site 24/7.
For a remix competition we would need a good tune. If anyone has a tune that could be abused for it... be my guest.
GSM codecs high-pass at about 80Hz and low-pass is at around 3.7kHz...
So those are the absolute frequency limits whereas the low end is probably a bit wanky from 150Hz down.... challenge challenge

Think the pull someones tune out of the hat to remix bit sounds cool but I dont think youcould group people by DAW as that would limit the ability to work a lot.
Better that we each submit a samplepack for the tune we're giving up to remix.
That way there'd be no cross-daw issues and the tune you produce would be a lot more your own work.
