a valid point!
but seriously tho......
with all respect due chronic... i think just programming drums for an hour or three would not be exciting enough for participants.
AND.. listening through 10 or 20 possible entries could be difficult to judge and vote.
i could see people like.. cynik, halph price, surya, greyone been interested.
but it doesnt excite me tho i'm afraid.
nevertheless, i will support your decision.. and might even enter

whats with you??????? burying for good????? give it a rest mate
on a sidenote, I cant remember any really GOOD drum and bass coming from uk, all same wobbles with 2step beats. there are exceptions, ofcourse...
at the same time rest of europe, especially the eastern part in 2005-06-07 (and surely will in 200
enjoyed buckloads of really fresh stuff, and those releases are the sole reason I still like dnb.
I am not slagging, if a tune is good Im enjoying it regardless of the style. All I'm saying is try and realise that there is other stuff and other people out here of which quality you cannot deny unless youre being a hypocrite

RONI SIZE is from the uk and is 1 of the best producers in the world, and not just of drum and bass. adam f is also from the uk and the same goes. that was quite a silly thing to say when drum and bass was born here. all im saying is the drum idea isnt the best 1. does commix and high contrast make wobble?

woah.. where did THAT come from?
LOL.
i didnt just read that did i? *rubs eyes*
cynik, you know that, THAT statement is the most rubbish you have written on this site!
the only good drum and bass to come out of the UK are exceptions??? WHAT??
now now.... we dont wanna start making lists and dropping names do we?
this is surely one the UK dominate in EVERY department.
i cant even dignify that by giving names and labels.

Im talking about recent releases. nothing new except the thing the ruffige crew is doing which I do like.
ok I draw back the "anything good", replace with "anything fresh"...
by something being not fresh doesnt necessarily mean its bad... its just nothing new

I kinda agree with Cynik on this one, but that was not the point of the conversation.
I really love the drum-only idea. I also equally love pure drum and bass composition (no other instruments, no excessive melodies, just the drums and the bass).
But I will enter any competition which is aside the normal dnb track. That's because everybody is making tracks, so it's no big deal - I get no adrenaline rush from it, no excitement. I can make a normal tune and - so what?! We've been all doing that for the past several years, no?
That's my 2 cents.
I will put a poll very soon, let you choose what you'd like to participate in

I'm argeeing with you on that one Mu. There's little point in doing something 'normal' - we do that eveyrday. The compo should be an opportunity to do something different and fun. Also, if it's based on a 'normal' 3 minute tune or whatever some peeps are no doubt just gonna use part of an old which never got finished. Where's the fun in that? We need to get peeps creating something specifically designed for the comp... we need a poll man.
