Please check out my new track 'Oldskool' and post your comments here!!!
This is the first tune I've started in many months..
I downloaded loads of stuff from the sample section on this site alot of which is really good, (cheers Guys)
Got to the drop so far, not sure where to take the track and in what style, don't wanna push it too much as I've had writers block for so long I'm just happy I've started something i like for a change.
All comments welcome
Cheers

like the atmos in the intro, lol i recognise some of the samples, loving those atmos pads, really build up the tension.
build up lush, quality arrangement, really sets up the drop nicely.
drop is good, saw bass could do with work i think, doesn't seem to fit in the mix well enough, drums are pretty good, could maybe do with more mid range to make them a bit more lively, nice work overall tho, a very promising track, cut out suddenly during drop too, you should defo finish this tune off!

Quite nice. Beats could use some more punch (you know, them really punchy ghosts!). The second drop sounds a lot like the first one, but that's understandable since you have a writers block. Good luck with that, I've had it for quite a while. The only way to get out of it is to try and do something that is NOT different from your previous tracks.

Nice pads
... Drums sound to cut off in the first part of intro.
Really like the atmosphere in the intro, it doesn't botter me that it is 1 1/2 minutes long, in fact, I don't like the main part too much, it doesn't glue to the intro and it is hard and dark whereas the intro is much more techy and mysterious.

Cheers lads.
I have totally scrapped the main drop now, gone for something a bit different.
@ Battledrone when you say the beatz are a bit too 'cut off' do you mean what i did in the Slicer by tightening them up a bit cos if so then i agree with ya, makes the drums lack in punch..
@ Tomos - yeah man I'm playing around with that synth i use in the breakdown, its from the sytrus but theres and acidy sound to it that im trying to get rid of so i can use it on the main drop..
But I'm pleased with the overall feel so far, i think I'm definetly going to extend the intro.. thought it was too long before but now i feel its too short, funny how a day later a track can sound very different...
Thanks Again..

Cheers, yeah as i said i got rid of the drop and re did it, it never quite worked before, to be honest in rushed it and was keen to upload the preview to get advice..
I have redone the intro drums a little and extended the first half and added a few new elements..
Its not often i still have alot of enthusiasm for a track 3 days after starting it..lol
Cheers, watch this space..
