Please check out my new track 'the stick-up' and post your comments here!!!

this is my very first track so please dont laugh.
i have no active monitors, so had to make this with ear phone connected to my guitar port witch i use as a audio inter face. most of this track was made with samples from this site, so massive respect for that.
beats are simple and loud....thats how i likes it.
anyway take a listen and tell me whats wrong with it.
PLEASE BE KIND!!!

build up is pretty good, nice panning on some of the fx aswell.
could do with some improvements to the structure, vocal sample is good but i jus feel you do so much more with it,
some of the bass sounds are a little too overpowering through my headphones and the drums on the drop could do with beefing up a fair bit, maybe add some more layers.
not bad for a first effort tho, keep at it!

Ello mate!

Nice work for your first track..
I can hear all the samples off the site, reminds me of when i started better tracks soon after i found this site.

What others say about the levels are true, they ain't bad for a first timer but the intro or first half is just too quiet compared to the next bit.

1:00 - way to loud and a bit experimental imo..

If your beatz were louder then it would roll more that bass sound is just too loud bro..
I like the melody your getting at, real raw makes me wanna get up n dance , but the levels ruin the overall feel, don't like the vocal sample much either..

To have piano in a dnb track is dam tricky, doesn't get pulled off well too often but the piano and violin (or something?) samples work well, kinda spooky intro..

Sort the levels out,, get a pair of headphones or speakers dont have to get monitors, i ain't got em (yet)

Cheers and keep at it bro, looking forward to hearing the next track from ya..

Big Grin

Yeah mate, not bad at all for a first effort. Like the other guys are saying, the levels on the beats and bass really need sorting out but the general melody and idea behind the track is pretty good.

You should definitely think about turning the hi hats up and adding some congos or shakers to them. It'd give them more rhythm and rollyness.

Keep at it bro. Big Grin

For a first track this sounds pretty decent, you should have heard mine Happy the drums could do with an extra bit of punch, that bassline is actually pretty sick. It's a bit of a mess though, giving it a jungle and/or oldskool feel. I dunno what that very silent violin thing is doing in the background though. Might as well kick that out.
Layer in a break on top of those drums, work your levels until the drums and the bass are equally present, clean up the structure a bit and your first track is a succes.
