For this mix I've mixed my all-time favourites with my current favourites, as most of my listeners are used to when listening to my shows (the Polyclinique). So there's a lot of oldies with some newer tunes.
Hope you will enjoy this mix even though it's got a lot of loose ends.
About myself:
I've been hosting my jungletrainshow for about 2 years now, or maybe less, I can't really recollect. :S
Something I've been doing with a lot of enjoyment and dedication, I love the fact that I get lots of feedback during the show, kind of like things were in the old pirate days, when you'd go out into town after a show and people would come up to you and say they'd listened to the show. Jungletrain is a very lively station and that's what I love about it.
I've been dj-ing for almost 9 years now. I started out at a local pirate radio in my hometown, Groningen, The Netherlands
and from there on things took off. At first I was just hosting a bit on someone elses' show and after a while they let me play
some sets and I got my own show, which I hosted for about 5 years. There I've had some legendary shows if only it was for my own recollection of it. This cause of all of the laughs and some people who came out and played at this tiny station,
you woulden't expect them to come and play. People like Hidden Agenda, Maldini, The Upbeats, Nu:Tone and of course Noisia (but since they're locals they played there more or less regularly when they were less known and busy).
In the local scene things started to kick off pretty soon as well. The drum and bass scene was almost non existant at the time and gradually it became more and more popular. Being a resident at a local night meant I got invited to play at different parties around The Netherlands and got to play alongside some big names and inside some nice venues. It also got me to play in England and Belgium.
Right now I'm not as active as I once was, maybe in the future that will come again, but I don't know.
In the mean time,I'll keep hosting my show on Jungletrain and staying at the essence of why I started at the first place; playing drum and bass and enjoying it while I'm at it.
