I have M-Audio e-Keys 3 octaves keyboard, does me fine, no problems at all. I am only sorry it doesn't have any knobs or switches, just keys.

OK, when you get a keyboard make sure it has atleast 3 octaves to avoid switching octaves all the time and get one with some knobs and switches so you can link them to some parameters in your DAW and control them without having to use the mouse (more accurate, fast and you're not limited to 1 element at a time).
I fell in love with the Korg Control 49 but as usual, I have an expensive taste.
I've heard some negative feedback about M-Audio Oxigen, broken faders, piano keys not working all the time,... so I'd not buy it.

control is only useful for live shows, it's overrated.
