I would be rather playing Guild Wars - doesn't require constant payments for the account - you buy one and you have it all.

i've started the ten day free trial offer.
so far the game seems excellent.
went on a mad hunting trip with a couple of dudes.
one of em was a dnb producer.
i'm now a level 5 night elf warrior called LOMAX

Great game, and not repetitive at all
Have it since it launched nearly 3 years ago. I'm on the Stormrage-EU server, alliance side, my mains are Cuivienen and Gariel
I can't play it as much as I would like, too many other obligations, usually play on monday evenings and sunday afternoons when I'm not working
Great fun, especially when you play with a couple of mates
I've been trying to convince Suvcycle to get a free trial account but no luck so far

You could go for the board game, which isn't badly done and has excellent character development. It has the advantage it takes you from start to the maximum level in 4 to 6 hours, and the expansions (2 till now) add replayability, new skills, characters, monsters, maps... It does have quite some downtime, but maybe you should look in to it.
So much for your weekly board game info

Yeah it's hard to stop once you start playing, there's so much to do and to see
I can recommend the Parental Control module, since you can easily waste your entire day if you decide to log in in the morning just to 'check your mail'
I set up mine so I can only play on monday evening from 7PM till midnight, and on friday afternoon, and saturday and sunday all day.
Then you have to generate a random password, delete the mail with the password, and block all mail from Blizzard in your mail server, to prevent you from cheating
And since I'm working on most fridays, saturdays and sundays I'm really looking forward to this evening's play time

seems there are already many people playing this game professionally
professionally as in: they play it all day long and earn money playing the game.
i don't understand the least bit of how that could work in some kind of system of moneyflow, but nevertheless they exist, i think that fact alone is a big enough statement on what kind of gigantic influence this game has on the gaming community
i didn't want to know of it when it started, and when i noticed people all around me staying at home, quitting partying etc, i never dared to begin at all
i still am glad i never started tho

They get paid to gather lots of good items, that are then sold via e-shops.
