just seemed a lot less hassle to get them from chron in one go. plus he can give the top 5 as an when he checks them, instead of me getting them individually and then finding something else has crept in there in the mean time

Is it really that important that a track is top 5?
I would consider using good tracks, even if they are on spot 6-10 or wherever.
If a track is super hard and dark shit, but your mix is on the lighter side, it's a bad idea to push it in as it ruins the mix.

its not for a mix.
its for the top five tracks of the month. two 45 min mixes from .be members. and then the top 5 tracks.
the show being once a month. hopefully 
taking into account most tracks usually round off around 5 or 6 minutes maybe a bit lionger, works out quite nicely for a 2hr show,if theres a lil time left ill have to find something else to throw in there
