Don't know wether this is any help , but i'm sure it will be to alot of producers having trouble with reason 3 drum machines !!!!! In the link i have provided , there is the template that i have made and use all the time to try to get my drums sounding right , as you will see on getting this template , you will find it easier to process your drum patterns more easyly by adding individual effects like scream distortion , compressers , delay and you will be able to add bass and treble as well to every individual drum sample you wish to process , it may look a bit complicated at first but it will help you in the future !!!!!!!!!!
Dont forget to use the sends on the "mixer in combinator" to add the effects , and you will find that i have put other effects in every channel as well , so try it out , any questions , feel free to ask !!!!!!!!!!!!

i have a couple of questions.
are you loading breaks into this?
where do you put what?
why are you using 2 band eq?
why are your beats starting in the 16 - 32 section?

THis is Redrum with a load of added feature basicly. Just use it like normal ie. Load individual hit ect and create your own loops. The way it is set up is so that it is more dynamic in 'mastering' your beats. ie reverb, compression on individual samples and the overall loop. It looks a bit complex at first, but works real well. It is good in the way, that you could in theory load a few snares, cut out the bad bits with the eq on each, add individual distortion ect and make your own snare sound on the fly...
This should be added to the Samples section so everyone with Reason can try it. 10/10

How is the NN-XT better for drums? I'm not disagreeing with you, just wondering why? What are the advantages?

Cheers Jimmy, Your worth ya weight in gold with all the info you give! Thanks for the patches. Most worked except the Reece ones. I assume they were done with Reason 4.
Didn't know rex files seperate into seperate patches. That pretty cool. I'm gonna try mixing the NN-XT with the setup uploaded here. Is the only way to get the layout from the rex file onto the NN-XT sequencer to create a Dr Rex and copy/paste the layout for the drums into the NN-XT sequencer? Or am I missing something here...

Filtering
More envelope control
More pitch control
Layering sounds or hits
still got mutliple outs
can adjust the start and end times on every hits
can load rex files straight into in and they are automatically mapped to the keyboard
more options with velocity modulation
need any more?

Thanks everyone. |

One more thing: TYPING IN CAPS IS CONSIDERED SHOUTING AND NOT POLITE.
