Hello you Jungle-lovers you,
The RUFFSKOOL launch party is happening Saturday 22 Dec @ Scheld'Apen in Antwerpen, and we have put together a line-up with the cream of the crop of oldskool Jungalists.
DJ Trax will headline the night with a storming early nineties jungle/rave set, stuffed with beauties from his collection. Trax was already releasing tunes on Brain Records in 1990 and on Moving Shadow in 1991. Being a resident at IchiOne in Amsterdam, we've been witness of his heavy skills on the decks many a time, so expect nothing less than the RUFFness!
Dago is a main figure in the Belgian music scene as a drummer, producer and DJ. The older boys and girls among us will remember him as the one and only Jungle pioneer of our little country. Resident DJ @ Fuse and Food, playing at I Love Techno, It's Like a Jungle and 10 Days Off, Dago is a man that's been around and blown people's socks off with crazy breakbeats countless times...now it's your turn!
The graveyard shift goes to the most infamous graveyard shift DJ in the city: Stekker. Antwerp party people will know him as the soul controller on the wheels, commander of the space cruiser destination Unknown. His specialties are dirty elektro, acid, detroit, experimental electronics and rave. At the Ruffskool, Stekker will pull out his most ravey uplifting tunes.
We feel that music is just a part of the whole experience on the dancefloor, so to enhance yours we're lucky to have between our friends two of the most talented visual artists around. You'll probably know Teknar from Bambu parties, his work with Jerboa, and his sets accompanying the biggest of names: from Roni Size to DJ Shadow to Amon Tobin. Blub Video recently moved from Barcelona to Belgium and was resident VJ at what must be Barcelona's biggest club: Razzmatazz. These two have joined forces and are already cooking up something special for the night.
Last but not least a special extra for the launch, and if it's a success we'll continue it, is a small jungle/dnb record fair starting 2 hours before the party. We've already spoken to a bunch of well-known DJ's who might want to sell some of their stuff and it looks like it's gonna be a cosy get-together definately worth checking. Come early, have a drink and snatch up some bargains!

'ello you dirty beats lover you,
As an extra promotion for our party we recorded a small mix (37 min, around 20 tunes) to give you an idea of the ruffskool sound: the ruff with the smooth...one minute dark, the other uplifting...breakbeat music that is raw & funky...taking influences from a broad palette of genres...but always energetic and dancefloor minded!
We chose to center this mix around the year 1993 and our 2 favourite labels of that era: Moving Shadow and Suburban Base. These labels were home to pivotal artists like DJ Hype, Sonz Of A Loop Da Loop Era (aka Danny Breaks), Q Bass, D'Cruze, DJ Rap, 2 Bad Mice, Blame, Deep Blue, Kaotic Chemistry and our guest at the party DJ Trax.
There's some absolute classics in there as well as some rarities. Pump up the volume and CHECK IT
PS: scratching by Danny Breaks and DJ Hype, not by ourselves : ))

Im not sure if i'll come it depends on the party the night before and a place to sleep....witch shouldn't be a problem normally...
but, it would be rude not to come to a party like this

wicked party out in antwerpen,
too bad for everybody who wasn't there!
great party, superb music, lovely people!!
saw a lot of people I didn't c for a very long time!
hmmm...2 days later still enjoying it! 
bad point about the night were the toilets...baaaaah smellyyy!
and a bit to crowded but because of the great vibes nobody bothered me!
