i like single kick personally, but it all depends on what the track calls for. i always start with the one though until i get deeper into the track.

for me the kicks got to have a good relationship with the bass(line), possibly the most important connection in a track. so for complex basslines, a high amount of kicks in a loop sounds bad, overcrowded. in turn, simpler sounding basses benefit from variating kicks, changing places, doubling etc.
ofcourse, that's just an impression, there are no rules really

1 kick for me, sometimes two,.. for ex. with the first kick in the firefight break, i allway's slap another underneath.

EVA TRIED PRODUCIN AT ABOUT 400BPM-TRY IT good for breakcore
its good for programming drums like firefitghts n amens

OMG, I understand what this thread is about i had to check it.
Just yesterday I had the same dilema whilst startin a new tune, but I think it totally depends on the style and the tune in hand.
I went for single in the end.
