buzzfx Ry's analog distortion is massive for dynamic, fruity's blood is good for an overdrive, PSP saturation is ok for tape sat distortion without hogging the cpu. boogex by voxengo has the greatest amp physical modelling distortion i know of. guitar rig does good stuff too that can make your stuff sound liek it's part of a real guitar rig, better then fucking slayer. Cyanide2 is good for fold-back distortion with 16x sampling adna fitler on the in and output helps. Tridirt is great with a 3 band and good overdrive distortions on them, that you can really crank, good for pads i find and drums, since you can seperate and isolate the distortion nicly. good for full rich sounds.and E-Phonic LOFI is teh best for some random lofi-ish pixel distortion, that just helps give soe good crunch. VintageWamrer is good if you needs one good distortion that will drain cpu.

don't much like the trash3 and qudrafuzz doesn't work properly in FL.

Dominion gives some weird harmonics so fi you distort after it draws out tehse same sounds, not ones from the sound, but from the plug0in that's not good. boss-ds and boss-sd suck too. i find camlephat3 has too mcuh bells and whistles on it,

I used to have one of these - I've still got the digital delay Boss pedal. Great pedals these. And yes, I experimented putting me drum machine patterns through the guitar pedals... distortion, chorus, octave, delay, tube screamer, flanger, phaser... the lot (not at once tho!!
). Done this for quite a while actually. This was a few years ago when I didn't have a computer. I got some amazing stuff through them, especially using the distortion pedal!!! I recorded the patterns onto cassette using a Yamaha 4-track recorder!! Still got the cassettes with all the stuff on... I sometimes get them out and reminice about the good old bad days.

trash don't work well with fruity with some fo teh amp and mic models, specificly the ribbon mic's, unless you use the "Used Fixed Buffer Size" function, which add's a hella lot of lag, but gives great quality.
trash3 doesn't have the greatest sounds, but it has a lot of them so there's gotta be something, all fo the distortions have too much character, they introduce their own harmonics all too often, and not that of the sample you're using. which is a very delicate thing in distortions... but all the multiband eq'ing helps balance that out, if you like to fuck around with that.

Camel Phat i love for it's Ramp LFOs. makes for great drum pattern ridiculousness.

as for using it for distortion it's pretty snazzy indeed with it's various types.

Usually when i make a bass i use Sytrus in FL. Within the waveform modifiers there's actually a distortion setting. making a sine wave into a square and the sort. playing around with that sometimes yields some interesting stuff
