Hi people,
I am looking for some kind of VST that will allow me to add an effect to my audio. The only way i can describe the effect is the wah wah.
Basically i need something that i can automate and add to my bassline so that they sound like they are talking. Like how the wah wah gives a vocal type effect. I want to make some big wobbly basslines with that mouthy feel.

You can do wah wah with most EQ plugins. Use a band pass EQ and sweep it across the midrange (500-1500Hz). Play with the Q setting to get the best result
Or use a LPF filter with high resonance and sweep with that between 500-1500Hz.
You can get the best results with linking a LPF and a band pass, and sweeping them together

Maybe you can use a vocoder to achieve the talking effect, making the wahs by yourself (with your mouth), making your bass your carrier signal and your voice your modulator.

that's a crazy idea, you could make basslines actually talking
imagine making a tune where your basslines speaks out an entire martin luther king speech or something like that
hehe
gonna try that one out

A bass sound does not do a very good job for vocoding. You need mids for that.

Please mention a track in which the effect you want to create can be heard. If possible a link to so soundclip of it. If we know what you're after it will be much easier to show the way.

imagine your playing a bassline out of your phone speaker or headphone, and you put it to your mouth. When you move your mouth around as if you were talking, the frequencies of the sound change. Pretty much like a wah wah peddle.
I want to be able to add this onto my basslines to give them that mouthy feel. I think this effect is usually used on wobbles to give it more WOB.
TeeBee - Quiet moment has this type of sound on the bassline but its quite subtle.
G dub - beast City also has this mouthy vocal sounding bass that is much more extreme and almost reminds me of some robotic voice on the bassline.
hope you get my gist, ill look for some more tracks with this type of sound.

Ok, i got two decent examples for you.
Basicallly, there both from the Andy C and Grooverider mix CD "Drum & Bass Arena: 10th Anniversary", if any of you have it.
-Track 08 on CD 1 (andy C): G Dub - Beast City.
-Track 19 and 20 CD 2 (Grooverider): Ed Rush, Optical & Fierce - Alien Girl and Just - Jungle Sky, the bassline played through both tunes.
They both have that kind of bass that just sounds like its coming from a mouth, theres no other way i can descibe it. Do you guys know what i mean?
