i was thinking about buying the upgrade from reason 3 to reason 4 which is about 100 pound but ive also seen i can get fruity loops 7 for about the same price and i was just wondering what you guys would get
also can fruity loops be re wired to reason because even though reason 4 looks pretty good it still has no vst support where as fruity has

Do you have any experience with FL7? If not, ge tthe demo version, it will make your judgment easier.
For the rewiring: 90% sure it can be done. I'll be checking out reason 4 soon, can't tell you what to do, build your own opinion.

The best option is to take Cubase 4
because sooner or later you'll have to decide which quality of your tracks you want and whether this "music production" is really the thing you need in your life. My opinion - choose FL, without any hesitations... though, you know - tastes still differ, so it's better to get a trial version.

Well you are already familiar with Reason, upgrading to Reason 4 will be pretty effortless, while switching to FL will cost you a lot of time to learn how to work with it.
On the other hand it is interesting to work with another program as it will teach you a different way of working, which will benefit your production skills

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!
i wish i could use reason because then i'd have even more
knowledge.
but if i could be bothered, i'd personally go for cubase or logic again.
it seems to be what most dnb professionals seem to use.
btw, i use FL and i love it.
i'd love to know how to use all the top
programmes but its a fucking ball-ache learning from the beginning again!
one day tho......

just in my experiences, i cant get a tune close to where i want it until i transer it to cubase or logic. Just being stuck with reasons 1/2 distoriton units etc, its 2 only eqs etc, i just dont like it. dont waste your energy on my opinions.

I've never had people complaining about the "quality" of the sound of my tracks, other than bad mastering on my part.

commix and logistics dont just use reason. Do you really think they finish a track solely using reason ? (sigh)
