This is a collaboration between BattleDrone and myself. It took just over a week. The track started out as an unfinished track by Battle. He layed down the main synth melodies, some FX and beats. I then added the main bass, layered the beats and vocals and added few little extra FX. We're both really happy with it. It was entirely created on FL Studio. School kicked in pretty drasticaly. Anyway, as the biggest reviewers out here u deserve proper review. The track is epic as fuck. Thats Tomos signature for shure. Lets start with the beggining: I didnt quite like the cutted sample. But thats my taste. Nice intro btw. Nice pads, everything sits right. Then the beat kicks in...I have a feeling that it has a too much reverb on it( it sounds like that). It kinda sounds like its locked in some room and you can hear only whats comming out. I would reckon to re-EQ it, bring it more forward. Especialy the kick which lacks the 'puff' in it, also the snare sounds a bit flat. I like the hihat over the break. It bring nice flow to the track. Tomos, you did pretty nice work with the bass. Damn nice bass dude. Maybe there is a too much stereo in it. But thats ok! The vocal samples are a bit loud imo, it overpowers in a bit when it kicks in. But the samples are well-picked. So guys, you made very nice work. I like the track. It has some nice melodies and ideas. Me and Drone pretty much agree with the vast majority of what you've said - we've come up with the same ideas ourselves independently of each other. It's an early version which I saved a few minutes before I corrupted the FL file. This version was supposed to go to Battle for him to tweak, re-arrange, etc, etc, and come back to me for further tweaks. But when I attempted to delete the unused channels and VSTs it caused FL to crash. By instinct I went straight to the "Save" option... Little did I know that by attempting to save a file when FL crashes it fucks it up permanently!!! We recognise that the track is far from perfect at the moment but there's little we can do now cos the original file is fucked. Really cool laid back vibe, i like the shuffle although I think it might be just a smidge quiet at the start of the tune and maybe it could get cut up a bit more later in the tune. So I won't. lol This track is very nice. Being an FL user myself I recognise some of those lovely samples, but that bass is something else The collaboration is very lush. Drums are good. Unfortunately, I have to agree with others here that the vocals are not only too loud, but they are somewhat of an irritance. I love stuff done in minor chords so you've won me over with that straight away, I must say though that the layering of the drums is almost like it's been doubled and shifted, was that intentional? Uh, the pads at the start are nice but the whole nicety thing is shortlived, maybe a little more substance in the introduction (break cutting in and out, filtering, delay, etc.) would make it a more inviting experience.
