Everytime i make a cool bass sound, i hit the automation button. i try to play something, and i dont hear a thing anymore?? what am i doing wrong?

I guess you mean the record button?
if you draw the notes manually, does it work then?

no then it doesnt work, no i mean for example i right mouse click the sytrus, add automation. from there off on my sytrus doesnt make any sound at all anymore.

Just avoid automation for now. Add plugin, choose sound, draw notes in piano roll... does that work?

without automation on it does work, its just when i try to work with automation it all goes numb. Or im doing something wrong with automation.

I still don't understqnd what you mean with "automation". Are you recording notes or are you tweaking parameters in realtime? Recording notes is not automation to me.

You can see that you trigger your 'notes' in the Piano Roll of the automation channel, and not of the Sytrus intrument channel. In your example, Cerbera Saw sytrus channel has no notes in the patterns, but the automation channel has (and why you did that, I don't know 
).
To add automation clip to a certain parameter, right-click the parameter, and choose [Create automation clip...].

Seems like you put your notes in the piano roll of the automation channel, not in the instrument channel.

hey man, thx for you replies. I have figured it out now thx to your help.
big up for you. And you created a pretty cool thing there
I have more question, i have linked the Y controller to my midi controller, but there is no way to record this, if i hit the record button next to play and stop, and start to play the song, and play with the Y controller it doesnt change anything. How do you do this?

Set a pattern that you don't use on the playlist (e.g. pattern 
and select its lane (so you see lane 8 is slightly brighter). Then start recording your automation. It will now be recorded onto pattern 8.
Read the FL Studio Bible to find out tons of these things. It really helps.

just to continue this thread, does anybody have problems when trying to do pattern clips with just automation in them? i remember using this back in the old days of fl, but it hasn't worked in 7. i'm an automation clip junkie

Select a part of the track layout (by dragging in the lane where the play indicator is located in the playlist) to select the part of your tune where the automation has to happen. Then go to the element that has to be automated and right click choose create automation clip, it will automatically appear on the playlist, now tweak it to taste.
