I've been using breaks for a while now and I am recognising this break/ride loop in tunes a lot... what is the name of the break used in "in love" ft. Jenna G by Chase n Status?
thanks.... Nice production on that tune, listen to how sweet those horns sound, sweeet mixdown...nice backing vox also...

Yes they are free.
It's a long story, basically you can't register a drumloop for copyright as it is not something like a melody which is unique. There are millions of songs with more or less the same drums in them, so you can not forbid people to use the same drums.

new digital copyright law int eh states makes every sonic second of a sound copyrighted, it use to be just lyrics and melodies, but now it encompasses everything recorded. so it's dependant of region.
use to be drum sounds are not copyrighted, mostly cuz a drums a drum. but in reality, no one will catch you, i hear a lot of tracks taht use the old school drum samples even in major recordings. there wys of making it not so obvious.
you can download and distribute them for free as long as they are for "educational" purposes. that's a right of the copyright law. there's a lot of the copyright law that stands to protect us to actually abuse the copyright law.
it's made to stop other people to gain money from others labours. it is suppose to allow others to learn from copyrighted materials, as long as they don't make a profit. it's not illegal to make songs that use copyrighted lyrics and melodies, for public preformance or just in private at home for personal/educational use ONLY, but for reproducing, as in manufacturing and selling, it is genrally illegal if you're an idiot like Vanillia ICe that uses the sample unedited and unchanged. then people like Dr.Dre that everything but change teh sample so you can barley recognize it as the orignal break, there's not entirly a lot that can be done, if the drums sound "simular". no evidance it's teh same drums.
it states if it's RECOGNIZABLE use of the sounds is illegal.
